White Pants at the Office

Typically a vacation staple, white pants are still totally acceptable office attire – and that goes for financial firms and creative spaces. The key? Keeping all other items post–Labor Day appropriate.

Here, three ways to rock the warm-weather bottoms, business style.

  1. Add black. Whether it’s in the form of a blouse or sweater, black adds a little seriousness to what’s normally a very carefree outfit.
  2. Throw on a blazer. During spring months, look to a blazer in a winter fabric (like rich tweed) to balance out the summer aesthetic often associated with white trousers.
  3. Stick to solid tops. Go for bold, eye-catching colors to create a more professional look, and save nautical stripes and other laid-back patterns for days off in, say, the Vineyard.

Our Lafayette 148 New York Boutique opens Thursday, April 11, at 11AM ET.
