Office Dress Code: What to Wear to (Your) Work

Work wear means something different to everyone. But whether your office is conservative, creative, or somewhere in the middle, adding a hint of your own personal style is key. Here, we break down the 9-to-5 uniform by career type, so no matter where you put your 40 hours in, impressing the boss is pretty much guaranteed.

Office Dress Code Tips

The Creative
Your office is a playground for self-expression. When it comes to your 9-to-5 attire, think outside the cube with flowy silhouettes and bold colors.

The Corporate Professional
Looking polished is part of your job. Opt for a monochromatic dress and stash bold heels under your desk for post-presentation drinks.

The Entrepreneur
Your office is everywhere. Meaning, you need an outfit that can multitask. Look to a simple top and slouchy trousers to get the job done.

Work It: Refresh the 9-to-5 with a Simple Switch of the Dress

BLG-1627-Boutique-Support-Kay-UngerYou’ve got your itinerary hammered out for the week. (On Monday’s agenda? Simply making it through the morning.) Now, it’s time to plan your outfits. Here, a little inspiration:

Muggy Mondays
It’s Monday and the humidity is through the roof. The quick solution? Skip the sweat and stickiness and throw on this emerald sheath dress (less = more). Bonus points if you try out these frizz-fighting tips, too.

Tapas Tuesdays
Spice up the beginning of your week with little Mexican soiree. Slip into this vibrant, classic lace number and head out for a glass of Spanish red and croquetas. Who said Tuesday had to be tame?

Wicked Wednesdays
Midweek slump? This fitted, cap-sleeve dress is sure to liven things up with a serious splash of color. Wear it alone or pair it with a blazer to make it office-appropriate.

Thirsty Thursdays
The (almost) end of the week calls for a drink – even if it’s just a mocktail. Throw on this mocha contrast dress for a look that takes you seamlessly from coworker to hostess, then mix up a pitcher of these margaritas. You’re welcome.

TGI(Fridays)
The weekend is finally here. And if that’s not reason enough to celebrate, we don’t know what is. Head home from work (run if you can), put on this embellished LBD and add a little red lipstick and some heels for an ensemble that’s ready to dance the night away.
