Too thin, too red, too uneven – the list goes on. For those of us who weren’t born with a perfect set of brows, these are some of the woes that we have to deal with when taking on the task ourselves (not recommended). But if left up to the pros, those brows will look perfectly polished – no stray hairs in sight. Here, I talk the thick and thin of eyebrow shaping with Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa‘s 14-year veteran, Aesthetician Victoria Leal.

RLL: As a 14-year veteran you must know a lot about eyebrow shaping, so how do you determine what shape to go with?
Victoria: Work with what you’ve got and accentuate the shape that you already have. As far as thickness goes, I usually say the width of a pencil or a straw – or the new iPhone® 5?

RLL: Wax, tweezers, scissors, or all three?
Victoria: All three, always. For a more manicured brow all three methods help create a more polished look.

RLL: Good to know! Any tips for reducing redness?
Victoria: Use a cold compress afterwards like a cool wash cloth and/or apply aloe to the area. And remember to limit your sun exposure immediately following any waxing.

RLL: How long should we go between each shaping/waxing?
Victoria: You should have your brows shaped every four weeks or once a month, depending on how quickly your hair grows.

RLL: I’m a big offender of at-home upkeep, but how much touching up should we really be doing ourselves?
Victoria: Tweezing the strays is sometimes necessary, but do not tweeze into the brow line, leave this to the professionals.

Our Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa Boutique opens Monday, October 22, at 11AM ET.

Everyone does it (but nobody talks about it). We sat down with the woman at the helm of New York’s chicest, hush-hush hot spot to go completely bare. Cindy gave us the scoop on her most in-demand services, favorite treatments, and A-list clientele.

Rue La La: We hear there’s this special, secret wax…
Cindy: completely bare Ouch-Less Wax – it was developed to grab onto the hair follicle and not the skin. The wax has positive sensory recollection, allowing you to disengage from the waxing experience and indulge in a personal memory evoked by the fragrance of the wax.

Rue La La: What’s a common waxing myth?
Cindy: That hair grows in sparser over time. It appears that way because the hair is growing back in different stages.

Rue La La: What’s your most popular appointment?
Cindy: The Brazilian or completely bare wax are both very popular.

Rue La La: What’s a good appointment for a first-timer to make?
Cindy: I recommend basic bikini, and then with experience you can opt for Brazilian or completely bare.

Rue La La: Okay, so airbrush tanning - does it really make you look like you go to the gym?
Cindy: The sculpted airbrush tan is a safe way to tan without the sun and will make you look and feel confident, healthier, and more fit.

Rue La La: How many laser treatments do you need to get before hair stops growing back completely?
Cindy: A minimum of six treatments, but you may need touch-ups depending on hair type and the part of body.

Rue La La: Any celebrity clients you can share with us?
Cindy: Kimora Lee Simmons, Olivia Palermo, and numerous Oscar and Grammy Award-winning actresses.

Rue La La: If you could only get one service for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Cindy: Laser bikini – the reason why I started my business!
