In preparation for Father’s Day, we’ve recruited five of Rue’s most stylish dads to share their thoughts on fatherhood, fashion, and more. Catch up on four of the dads right here – then read on as we spotlight our very last one.

Senior Buyer Rue La La
What are your kids’ names and ages?
I have three. Alex is 27, Christopher is 25, and Courtney is 23.

What’s your favorite thing about being a (grand)dad?
Sending my 3-year-old grandson home when he gets tired and cranky.

Do you have a Father’s Day tradition?
I always enjoy a little time playing golf with Alex or going fishing with Chris. Afterward, a cookout is usually our best chance to get everyone together and enjoy a little family time.

How would you define your style?
I enjoy modern classic styles by Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren, and also catalog shopping from J.L. Powell and carbon2cobalt.

Does that style influence how you dress your children?
Alex works in an office environment and calls on new and existing clients, therefore he must dress accordingly. He enjoys great-looking, slim-fitting dress or sport shirts along with dress slacks or a nice pair of chinos. Chris just became a firefighter and only cares about great-fitting skinny jeans (and thinks I’m too old to be wearing them). Courtney is a hair stylist with a creative style all her own. So in a roundabout way, my answer is no!

What’s your son’s name and age?
Briggs. He’s 4.

What’s your favorite thing about being a dad?
The massive increase of humor in my house. My son is funny. Sometimes he means to be, sometimes he doesn’t.

Do you have a Father’s Day tradition?
We spend the Saturday of Father’s Day weekend with the other dads in our lives – my dad, father-in-law, and wife’s grandfather – and then Sunday is reserved for just me, my wife, and my son. Usually my wife lets me sleep in, we go to my favorite diner, and then we’ll do something with Briggs.

How would you define your style?
I’m from Ohio originally, so probably some flavor of Midwest preppy. And my last decade on the East Coast has definitely instilled a love for sport coats and nice shoes.

Does that style influence how you dress your son?
Definitely. Since my wife and I get to choose his clothes (for now), my son wears a lot of the same styles as I do. More than once I’ve looked at his shirt or shoes and wondered if they make them in adult sizes.

If you could receive any gift from our Father’s Day gift shop, what would it be?
I rarely buy ties since we don’t have a business-formal dress code at Rue, so I’m always disappointed with my selection when I need one. This tie is great – it goes with a lot and has just enough visual interest.

Rue La La Senior Designer

What’s your daughter’s name and age?
Her name is Stella. She’s only 15 months.

What’s your favorite thing about being a dad?
Picking my daughter up from daycare. The expression on her face is indescribable.

Do you have a Father’s Day tradition?
Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream.

How would you define your style?
Blue jeans, sneakers, button-fronts, and bright accent colors.

Does that style influence how you dress your daughter?
At 15 months, Stella hasn’t exactly developed a style just yet. But she does have favorite colors: pinks, purples, and yellows.

If you could receive any gift from our Father’s Day gift shop, what would it be?
Canyon Ranch® + Miami = date night.

Steve Davis Rue La La CEO

What are your kids’ names and ages?
I have three. Mason is 3, Sierra is 7, and Zoe is 10.

What’s your favorite thing about being a dad?
Having my kids run to me when I walk in the door, screaming “Dadddyyyyyy!” and jumping in my arms.

Do you have a Father’s Day tradition?
Block party, BBQ, and moon bounce on our front lawn. Basically – a whole lot of fun.

How would you define your style?
Let’s call it “fashion casual.”

Does that style influence how you dress your kids?
I’m a smart man. My much more fashionable wife dresses the children.

If you could receive any gift from our Father’s Day gift shop, what would it be?
Canyon Ranch® Miami with my wife. It combines two of my favorite things: mind, body, and health inspiration during the day, and dancing all night in South Beach.
