We’re always looking for an easy way to look chic. (Who isn’t?) Luckily, this season is all about wearing one color from head to toe – white. So step away from complicated color palettes, and let Rue Stylist Emma L. show you three ways to wear the look.

1. Play with Proportions
Add some punch to a seemingly simple outfit with this advanced layering. “A shorter skirt underneath a long coat is visually interesting and very on-trend. As is a short, boxy jacket over a longer top and slim pants,” says Emma.

We’ve been patiently waiting to trade in clunky boots and parkas for ankle-baring wedges and breezy dresses. The good news? Warmer weather is oh-so-close. While it’s not exactly time for a full-blown closet swap yet – keep the bikinis and beach towels tucked away for now – you can start making subtle switches.

Fact: Our fashion director knows a thing or two about spring style. So, naturally, we turned to her for a little warm-weather outfit inspiration. Here, she shares her ideal day-to-night ensemble.

The Easiest Chic Spring Outfit

“In spring, I like to make dressing easy and fuss-free. One of my favorite pieces is a jumpsuit, as you only have to think about the accessories,” she says. “For day, pair your jumpsuit with strappy metallic flats, a mini crossbody bag, and a straw fedora. For night, dress it up with a pair of sultry snakeskin heels and a sparkly crystal necklace.”

While winter may feel like the never-ending season, spring will be here before we know it. So, with that in mind, we asked Rue Assistant Stylist Susie L. to help us style an outfit that works now and in the warmer months.

Take an Outfit from Winter to Spring

“While the weather’s still chilly, pair your favorite blazer with a light tank, and then throw on a colorful scarf and booties for added warmth,” says Susie. “Once the weather starts to heat up, trade the scarf for a bright statement necklace and reach for a neutral pair of ankle-strap flats.”
