Come February 6, athletes from all over the world will descend upon Sochi, Russia, to compete in the 2014 Winter Games. And I, like millions of other viewers, will be riveted to the TV screen watching skiing, figure skating, curling, and more. If history is any indication, I’ll also be shedding a tear or two when I get overwhelmed by the incredible triumphs that are playing out before me. But there’s still a few days to go – so to hold us all over until then, here are five things you may not know about the Winter Games this year.
