The only thing currently more exciting than Paris Fashion Week? The New York City Ballet’s opening gala. Tonight, dancers will take center stage in costumes designed by Carolina Herrera, Thom Browne, Mary Katrantzou, and Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.

Looking for a place in the Big Apple to rest your head? For a cool $22 million you can buy Sarah Jessica Parker’s 6,800-square-foot Greenwich Village townhouse (last seen in a Vogue.com video tour, spurring apartment envy worldwide). As a refresher, this brownstone is home to seven fireplaces and an oval-shaped, hand-carved stone tub. Who wouldn’t want to cozy up to that?

Rumor has it she bought the property solely for remodeling purposes without ever living there. Even if she didn’t actually call it home, the townhouse still has that unmistakable SJP flair – modern with an eclectic touch. Neutral-hued, art-adorned walls complement the double-paned mahogany windows and, naturally, the space boasts an enviable Carrie Bradshaw-worthy walk-in closet.

Too bad I don’t have a few extra million lying around – or a Mr. Big to buy it for me.

Every year, the Met Gala is hosted with a theme that attendees are expected to dress in accordance with. This year, that theme was “white tie and decorations” in honor of legendary couturier Charles James. For the women, that meant sweeping ball gowns. For the men… well, evidently the theme was a little hard for the men to follow.

Seth Myers interviewed Met Gala chairs Anna Wintour and Sarah Jessica Parker on his show Late Night with Seth Myers, and according to the fashionable women, while the male attendees deserve credit for trying, only a few actually succeeded with their white-tie look.

Check out the rather humorous interview (above) and learn about their dos and don’ts for white-tie dressing. Hey, you never know when you’ll have a white-tie event – and now when you do, you’ll have an SJP- and Wintour-approved look.

It’s seldom we get too excited when any celebrity joins Twitter – aren’t they all tweeting by now? – but this time, it’s different. Sarah Jessica Parker signed up this week, tweeting under the minimalistic handle of @SJP. We wonder at the success of Twitter’s IPO and Ms. Parker’s timing… coincidence?

And she’s picked quite an unusual profile picture. As ELLE UK says, “If you were expecting a side of beautiful imagery with her musings, prepare to be disappointed: her profile picture is a close-up of her (admittedly, immaculately made-up) eye.”
