In preparation for Father’s Day, we’ve recruited five of Rue’s most stylish dads to share their thoughts on fatherhood, fashion, and more. Read on and check back. Every other day, we’ll spotlight a new dad right here.

Steve Davis Rue La La CEO

What are your kids’ names and ages?
I have three. Mason is 3, Sierra is 7, and Zoe is 10.

What’s your favorite thing about being a dad?
Having my kids run to me when I walk in the door, screaming “Dadddyyyyyy!” and jumping in my arms.

Do you have a Father’s Day tradition?
Block party, BBQ, and moon bounce on our front lawn. Basically – a whole lot of fun.

How would you define your style?
Let’s call it “fashion casual.”

Does that style influence how you dress your kids?
I’m a smart man. My much more fashionable wife dresses the children.

If you could receive any gift from our Father’s Day gift shop, what would it be?
Canyon Ranch® Miami with my wife. It combines two of my favorite things: mind, body, and health inspiration during the day, and dancing all night in South Beach.

For more Rue fathers, check back through June 15. In the meantime? Shop gifts for Dad. Our Best Father’s Day Ever: The Gifts He Really Wants Boutique is open now.

I think Maya Angelou said it best: “How important it is for us to remember our heroes and she-roes.”

Today, we here at Rue pause to thank all of our veterans, men and women both, for their untiring dedication to our country.

Especially inspiring? The Army’s newest addition: a statue of a female solider, the first of its kind to be placed on a military base, unveiled last week in Fort Lee, Virginia.

In the words of The Daily Beast:

While the statue is a tribute to all women soldiers, it was designed to commemorate those who served in our most recent wars, a significant step by the U.S. Army to recognize and honor the part women play in military operations. The figure is dressed in modern combat equipment and carries a loaded M4 rifle…. It’s refreshing to finally see a public display showing the rifle and gear worn by a woman. A powerful tribute to the burden that women have carried in combat.

I’ll never fail to be amazed by how far we’ve come.

It’s amazing how good you feel when you find those pieces that flatter your every curve. Especially when it’s a dress that can take you from desk to dance floor with the addition of a few glittering extras. But which cuts are compatible with each shape? Here are three of the most common pairings:

Find Your Body's Best Dress Shape

A-Line
This is as universal as it gets. Nipping in at the waist and skimming loosely over the hips and thighs, this dress works on everyone, from pear-shaped to athletic body types.

Wrap
Sporting a flattering V-neck that draws the eye down, this classic style works well for fuller busts and hourglass shapes.

Empire
By accentuating the top half of the body just above the natural waist, this cut best flatters women with apple-shaped body types. Details around the neck also help to bring the focus up.

This holiday season, we wanted to make giving the Rue you love as easy as possible. Hence our gift receipts. (They’re game changing.)

SO WHAT EXACTLY IS GOOF-PROOF GIFTING?
Give Rue. If your recipient for any reason doesn’t love their gift, they can return it for free. They don’t have to go through you first, and they don’t have to already be a Member.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Say you order a gift for your sister and have it shipped to yourself – you know, so you can wrap it up pretty and give it to her at your family party. Grab a gift receipt here, and then find your SHIP ID (located on the upper left of the packing slip). Just write this SHIP ID on the gift receipt and enclose it with your gift. Your sister can then contact the Concierge (at 1-855-783-8585 or giftreturns@ruelala.com) with the SHIP ID if she’d like to return it.

PRINTING MORE GIFT RECEIPTS
Need another gift receipt? Misplaced the one included with an order? Not a problem. Just click here and print out as many as you (and your lucky giftees) need.

SENDING GIFTS TO THE RECIPIENT
Want to send that Rue gift straight to your sister’s place (she does live halfway across the country, after all)? All she has to do is contact our Concierge (at 1-855-783-8585 or giftreturns@ruelala.com) to make the return. It’s as easy as that!

RECEIVING A GIFT?
To arrange a free return for a gift you received, contact your Rue La La Gift Concierge at 1-855-783-8585 or giftreturns@ruelala.com.

TERMS OF USE
Program is subject to Rue La La’s Terms of Use. For more information on our Guaranteed Gifting Program, click here.
Please note: Final Sale items cannot be returned.
