The Best-Dressed List: Looks from September 28 to October 4

EACH WEEK, OUR FASHION EDITOR DECIDES WHO DESERVES TOP HONORS

With no shortage of pint-sized style stars on the way – from Eva Chen’s Chanel-toting mini-me to Prince George’s sure-to-be-chic younger sibling – we can’t help but obsess over stylish maternity looks.

Best Dressed List

  1. Miroslava Duma showed off her baby bump in a bird-adorned Valentino cape – just one of the many luxe looks the Russian editor sported during Paris Fashion Week.
  2. Zoe Saldana, who recently confirmed she’s having twins, turned up to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’s Hollywood Costume opening party in a cotton-candy pink Christian Dior gown and matching clutch. Maybe she’s hinting at the color of the nursery…
  3. Rosamund Pike, who is expecting her second child, looked equal parts sultry and sweet mom-to-be at the world premiere of Gone Girl, thanks to a black, bow-accented Altuzzara gown with a thigh-high slit.

Most Coveted: A Peek at This Week’s Boutiques

By Nicole Andrew, Rue La La Fashion Editor

As temperatures dip, coats will quickly become the finishing touch on every outfit. Whether you sport a classic trench or a belted cape, the extra layer adds visual interest, tying together the rest of your look. Along with a cape-sleeved topper, here are bold picks from this week’s Boutiques, including rose-tinted accessories and a graphic black-and-white dress.

most-coveted

2. Hilary Radley Coat. Exaggerated sleeves and a stand-up collar give this classic style a modern twist.

Most Coveted: A Peek at This Week’s Boutiques

By Nicole Andrew, Rue La La Fashion Editor

Modern femininity requires a finely tuned mix of sophistication, sex appeal, and a little bit of edge. Present-day incarnations of Brigitte Bardot come to mind, like Kate Moss and Julia Restoin Roitfeld. This week’s picks channel these three elements – all you need to pair with them is a noir-heavy wardrobe and a touch of leopard. (And great genes don’t hurt either.)

MOST-COVETED_91

1. CÉLINE Mini Luggage Tote. Tap into your feline side with this leopard-print tote.
2. Rivka Friedman 14k Earrings. Dramatic earrings are an easy way to glamorize your look.
3. Trina Turk Leather Skirt. Add a bit of edge with leather statement pieces, like this perfectly fitted pencil skirt.
4. Casadei Pump. Swap out classic pumps for this high-impact pair with cutouts and gold heels.
5. L’OCCITANE Shea Butter Hand Cream. Keep your hands feeling soft with this shea butter cream. The travel size is perfect for your purse or desk drawer.

By Nicole Andrew, Rue La La Fashion Editor

  2. Floral & Leaf Drop Earrings. Tie everything together with jewelry that mixes and matches for you.
  3. AERIN “Sullivan” Suede Bootie. Both retro and modern in feel, this cutout bootie strikes the perfect chord in an aubergine hue.
