This year, the Met Gala dress code called for sweeping ball gowns and full “white tie” attire. And while many stars missed the mark, a select few hit home runs.

Last night, Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton took to the red carpet for the L.A. premiere of their movie, The Other Woman. And once again, the ladies didn’t disappoint on the fashion front. (Be sure to shop their style from the film in our Movie-Inspired Style: The Other Woman Boutique, live now.)

Leslie Mann, joined by husband Judd Apatow and their two daughters, worked this season’s colorblocking trend, pairing a hot-pink strapless crop top with a coral high-waisted skirt. Cameron Diaz showed off her famous gams in a short little black dress with a plunging neckline, while Kate Upton shone bright in a sparkling Dolce & Gabbana mini dress topped with Chanel jewelry.

The Other Woman L.A. Premiere

Now, while Leslie and Cameron are no strangers to movie-premiere fashion, this is 21-year-old Kate’s first movie press tour – but the bombshell sure seems to be holding her own just fine. Before she headed into the Regency Village Theater to take in the premiere, we grabbed her for a few questions. Here, she talks red-carpet style and more.

Rue La La: You’ve had some great looks this press tour, from the Christian Siriano dress you wore in the Netherlands to the red mini you rocked in Germany. Do you have a favorite?
Kate Upton: That’s tough, but honestly, probably this one. I love Dolce & Gabbana.

Rue La La: In The Other Woman, your character Amber has a very laid-back, Cali-cool look. Is your personal style anything like Amber’s?
Kate Upton: It’s not. It was actually really funny, whenever I was looking through her clothes I was like, “Well, I wouldn’t wear that, I wouldn’t wear that,” because that’s how I am on modeling sets. But I’d stop and realize, I’m not looking for myself, this is for Amber. And it was really cool to create a style for a character.

Rue La La: If you could steal the style of one of your costars – Leslie or Cameron – who would it be?
Kate Upton: I love both of their styles. When we’re out together I’m always like, “I want that shirt, and those shoes.” It’s just so much fun being on tour with them and seeing how they put together outfits.

Our Movie-Inspired Style: The Other Woman Boutique opened Monday, April 14, at 3PM ET.

Earlier this week, after a very exciting (and stylish) awards season, The Hollywood Reporter named this year’s most powerful stylists. We internally applauded, fawned over Hollywood’s style fairy godmothers, and then, just as we were about to move on, a high-fashion spread featuring said stylists and their A-list clients was posted.

Needless to say, moving on never happened. The pictorial was, as Rachel Zoe (who came in 6th) would say, “so major” that I blocked off my calendar for most of the afternoon. Scrolling through this online pictorial is like watching the credits roll, except you actually want to see everything and you feel pretty deflated when it ends – until you start imagining what your own pictorial will look like one day. Or, at least, that’s what I did.

Head on over to The Hollywood Reporter to see the pictorial for yourself.

Last night, Hollywood’s A-list gathered in celebration of the Academy Awards – and, while the weather may have been dismal, the fashion was anything but. The night’s best dresses? Check out my top five picks below.

The Academy Awards red carpet has officially begun – and while we may have to wait an hour or so before all the night’s biggest stars arrive (Brad and Angie, anyone?), we’re whetting our fashion palate with a rundown of this year’s presenters.

Oscars Presenters

E! queen Giuliana Rancic went with a princess-like, embellished Paolo Sebastian gown, to-die-for Sergio Rossi shoes, and a glitzy Judith Leiber clutch, while Fashion Police correspondent Kelly Osbourne opted for a sleek Badgley Mischka gown with a sheer embellished overlay. Kelly, however, had to do a quick emergency swap and change into her pre-show black dress, as she couldn’t get up the stairs in her Badgley Mischka number.

So, which presenter nailed it? Kelly, Giuliana – or was it Ryan in his surprising-but-striking white tux? You tell us. Tweet us at @ruelala with #Oscars now.

The People’s Choice Awards wasn’t even a week ago and yet we’re already on to awards show number two: the Golden Globes. With a red carpet that included everyone from Julia Roberts to Taylor Swift, my best-dressed list is a true mix of Hollywood heavyweights and a new breed of style icons.

New York Magazine: The Cut, recounting an incredibly adorable red carpet explanation from Quvenzhané Wallis:

We Couldn't Have Said It Better

Even though everyone has been buzzing about Jennifer Lawrence, Quvenzhané Wallis totally stole my heart with her Oscar antics and hallmark puppy purse (and I’m sure I’m not alone). Because, seriously – if you’re walking the red carpet, sparkles are the only way to go.

Red Carpet

Awards season is officially here, and after last night’s Golden Globes, it’s safe to say it started with a bang. While the night’s top moments belonged to Les Misérables, Ben Affleck’s Argo, and one very glittery Jodie Foster, let’s be honest – the red carpet was the real star of the show. Here are some of my favorite looks:

Claire Danes: The Homeland star looked gorgeous in a bold red Versace gown. Totally flattering and structured in just the right places, this gown made the brand new mom one of the best-dressed of the night. (And yes, you heard right – she’s just a month removed from giving birth.)

Anne HathawayBefore picking up the Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture award, the Les Misérables star arrived in a sparkling white Chanel gown. The sleek, slim-cut shape was femme without frills – a perfect counterpoint to her pixie cut.

Jessica AlbaPerhaps one of the forgotten best-dressed of the night, Jessica Alba showed up in a strapless coral number and a blingy statement necklace. I loved the coloring – with her complexion, she pulled off that coral easily.

Kerry WashingtonIt’s not hard to make the Django Unchained star look beautiful, and when she opted for a neutral Miu Miu & Chopard gown, she reminded us that sometimes simpler is in fact better. Shimmery embellishments and some saucy sheer accents upgraded the straight shape, making the simple gown into something eye-catching.

Some other favorites: Taylor Swift looked surprisingly grown-up in a purple Donna Karan Atelier gown, Olivia Munn aimed for understated in a Giorgio Armani number, and Julianne Hough went all-out with cascading gold studs. After an ultra glamorous night like this, there’s only one thing to say – awards season, I missed you. (Only 41 days until the Oscars!)
