From last week’s confession of lazy hairstyling, comes a similar admission of equally lazy proportions. Sometimes I wear my pajamas to work. As much as I love clothes, shopping, and all things fashion, occasionally only naptime-comfy will do. A chunky sweater over a vintage slip, a drapey cardi tossed over, well, anything, and today’s, lounge-around pants with heels.

Seriously, have you ever noticed how much softer loungewear duds are than their daywear counterparts? Why should such a high level of comfort be reserved for the couch?

Okay, I’m lucky enough to work in an extremely creative environment where pretty much anything goes. And by no means am I talking about wearing your flannel bear-bedecked numbers out in public, or even those all-too-familar sweats with words splayed across the behind. But with a few tips you too can don (at the very least) your silk cami under a blazer and declare tomorrow Wear-Your-Glorified-Pajamas-To-Work Day.

Pair with tailored separates. Silky pajama pants with a blazer and heels.

A button-up pajama top with a pencil skirt or menswear trousers. It’s all about balance.

Try cuffing your pants and even rolling the waist once to take the fit from sloppy to “purposefully undone”.

Consider the color. Black and rich prints translate better to the work environment than say heather grey.
