2014 Met Ball Dress Code Announced: White Tie and Decorations

The Met Gala, an annual ball hosted by Vogue’s editor-in chief Anna Wintour, always has a theme. Last year, it was punk. This year? White Tie and Decorations. (Cue that collective huh?)

Instant Inspiration: 5 Pinterest Boards We Can’t Get Enough Of

A Tuesday roundup of our recent Pinterest obsessions

We’re still coming down from our New York Fashion Week high. Can you blame us? It was a color-story dream.

1. From lipstick to handbags, Rebecca Minkoff’s collection was all about the oxblood accents.

2. MILLY has officially assured us that black-on-black (on black) is way more chic than morbid.

3. Pink came alive in every shade on the Monique Lhuillier runway.

4. Often-underappreciated navy made a major comeback in SUNO’s collection.

5. Carolina Herrera covered her catwalk in blood orange.

Instant Inspiration: 5 Pinterest Boards We Can’t Get Enough Of

A Tuesday roundup of our recent Pinterest obsessions

Right now, our Fashion Director, Jackie Nasser, and her (very lucky) team are at New York Fashion Week taking notes on all the latest runway trends. Back at the Boston offices, the rest of us are getting our NYFW fix via Livestream and Pinterest. Thank goodness for social media.

1. Shout-out to Paris, because we wouldn’t have NYFW otherwise.

2. Like it or not, fashion is all about picking favorites.

3. After all the time spent creating their collections, these designers more than deserve a bow at curtain call.

4. Fact: There’s always just as much style outside the tents as there is inside on the runways.

5. If Anna Wintour doesn’t show up, is it even NYFW?

Can’t get enough Pinterest inspiration? Check out past boards that caught our eye.

Designer Inspiration: Elaine Turner on “The Jackie O,” and More

BY ELAINE TURNER

Elaine Turner

We’re all about destination glamour and transporting our customer to a location. And every season, I design collections based on two inspirations: a muse and a place. For Fall 2010, I was inspired by Jackie O. and her years in New York City.

Like New York itself, Jackie O. was multi-dimensional and complex. She expressed her style yet always remained classic, elegant, and timeless. I am fascinated by the legacy of her culture, compassion, and charm.

My Favorite Rue

KIRAT ANAND SHARES THE STREET HE LOVES

What is my favorite street? Stops along memory lane pop into my head like strobe lights. The coastline along Cinque Terre, its trail through the five towns with the sound of water crushing against the coast. The image of Delhi Polo grounds still fresh with its smell of morning dew. But after my thoughts traveled around the world, they brought me back home, back to New York City.
