We’re all about destination glamour and transporting our customer to a location. And every season, I design collections based on two inspirations: a muse and a place. For Fall 2010, I was inspired by Jackie O. and her years in New York City.
One part of Fashion Week that has stayed with us (other than the unforgettable spring/summer collections) since Lincoln Center in September are the beauty trends we saw both on and off the runways. More often than not, the makeup on the models is the last ingredient to bring each designer’s collection to life, and one that inspires our day-to-day beauty routine. We’ve pulled three of the most prominent makeup trends off the runway so you can pull them off in real life.

We’re beyond thrilled to welcome our favorite New York City girl, Whitney Port, back on Rue La La (did you catch her chatting live on Facebook today?). To celebrate her upcoming Whitney Eve Boutique, we asked the starlet to dish about her favorite NYC hotspots. From getting pretty to grabbing a slice of pizza, Whitney gives us an insider’s guide to shopping her city – very, very chicly. Continue reading “Whitney Port Shops NYC” »
We’ve regrouped after the scene that was New York Fashion Week in Lincoln Center, and we’re marinating in the trends for spring (which we’ll start playing with right now). Here, a recap of some of our favorite moments from fashion’s big week.

Besides being a fashionista, I’m also a foodie. Imagine my excitement when I was invited to the Zagat “Off the Menu” dinner held exclusively for Rue La La Members.
We gathered at Bar Boulud, Chef Daniel Boulud’s wine bar and bistro at Lincoln Center, for a four-course wine pairing dinner presented by Chef Damian Sansonetti and Sommelier Michael Madrigale. Continue reading “A Once-In-A-Lifetime Dinner at Bar Boulud” »
AN INTERVIEW WITH THE OWNER OF COMPLETELY BARE SPAS
Everyone does it (but nobody talks about it). We sat down with the woman at the helm of New York’s chicest, hush-hush hot spot to go completely bare. Cindy gave us the scoop on her most in-demand services, favorite treatments, and A-list clientele.
Rue La La: We hear there’s this special, secret wax… Cindy: completely bare Ouch-Less Wax – it was developed to grab onto the hair follicle and not the skin. The wax has positive sensory recollection, allowing you to disengage from the waxing experience and indulge in a personal memory evoked by the fragrance of the wax. Red is the color of one of our favorite carpets – and one of the causes closest to our heart. We were excited to be live on the scene at the New York Fashion Week’s Heart Truth Red Dress Fashion Show, where celebrities walk the runway in red dresses to shine the spotlight on women’s heart health. Our reporter on the ground, Dani Incropera, talked with some of these high-profile women before they took their turns on the catwalk. Watch our exclusive footage now.
