With its desirable work-life balance and preexisting sew-and-cut industry, it’s only natural that brands like Topo Designs and Winter Session are thriving in the Mile High City. And as the American-made trend continues, I wouldn’t be surprised if more brands and shops like these head west. Who knows – maybe the guys of Denver will be the ones setting the global trends in menswear soon.

The men’s Americana trend is definitely having a moment. You’ve seen this laid-back, rugged style on musicians and at your local speakeasy, but do you have any idea where it came from or what to call it? From today on, consider yourself officially in the know. Below, our Men’s Editor, Cassandra H., defines the trend.

The Americana Look for Men

To pull off this style, there’s no need to look too put together. Start with well-worn jeans, toss on a Henley or button-front with a vest, and top it all off with a blazer. Make brown leather boots the finishing touch. If they’re scuffed, they’ll look all the better for it.
