Long gone are the days when a pair of jeans wasn’t seen outside of the ballpark or supermarket. Denim has evolved over the years into a wardrobe force to be reckoned with (and we couldn’t be happier). But with so many different washes out there, how do you know which one is the most appropriate for the occasion at hand? Read up, then shop away (no guilt necessary).

1. Dark Blue
The dressiest (and most versatile) of all blue jeans. Swap out flats for heels for a quick desk-to-date outfit change.

2. Classic Blue
The trademark denim wash, this medium blue hue is meant for laid-back dressing (just add a rhinestone sweatshirt).

3. Super Light
Warm-weather dressing at its finest. Throw these on with a light-colored, airy top and some sky-high espadrilles.

4. Black
These ebony jeans can pass as trousers. Pair them with a blazer and blouse for an office-ready look any day of the week.

Our James Jeans Boutique opens Sunday, January 20, at 11AM ET.
