Lena Dunham Is About to Prove She’s Just “Not That Kind of Girl”

If you’re anything like me, it’s almost like Lena Dunham – a.k.a. Hannah Horvath – is speaking directly to you via her HBO original series, Girls. She can’t pay rent? You can’t pay rent. (Well, sometimes.) Ups and downs with your best friend? Preaching to the choir. And now, us just-like-me fans can connect with Dunham through a whole new medium: a book.

Lena Dunham Inspires a $10K Campaign for Women’s Empowerment

Is there anything the Girls creator can’t inspire? We didn’t think so.

In the wake of last week’s controversy in which Jezebel offered $10,000 for Lena Dunham’s untouched Vogue photos, a new (much more positive) idea arose. An Indiegogo campaign is now seeking to counter the obscene proposition by raising $10,000 for none other than women’s empowerment. The donation, which is set to go to Step Up Women’s Network, is already nearly half raised – and there’s still 25 more days to go. Now this is one cause we can get behind.

Extra! Extra! Lena Dunham Lands Vogue Cover

Guys. Lena Dunham is your newest Vogue cover girl. Well, reportedly. According to Page Six, the Girls creator will grace the cover of the esteemed fashion magazine’s February issue. And it makes sense. I mean, she’s a popular actress, respected writer, and most importantly, will no doubt draw in a number of young readers to Vogue’s typically more mature audience. So why exactly is this news?

Lena Dunham and Anna Wintour

Together at Last: Jenna Lyons & Lena Dunham

That’s right, the new Girls Season 3 trailer has dropped on the masses. (Watch. ASAP.) And it features none other than J.Crew’s creative director, Jenna Lyons. The only question I ask – does this finally mean Hannah will spend a season fully clothed?

Read more about it on Refinery29.

Lena Dunham May Be the Next Vogue Cover Girl

What Anna Wintour wants, Anna Wintour gets. Her latest desire? Lena Dunham on the cover of Vogue. Willing to break with tradition, the magazine’s editor in chief may feature the Girls creator ”even though she doesn’t really conform to the body type that Vogue has featured for most of its history,” a source told Radar Online. And how is she setting this up, you ask? Over a fancy, top-secret dinner, of course.

If this collaboration does happen, one thing’s for sure: I’ll be first in line to get my hands on one of those glossies.

Chitter Chatter

From fashion commandments to paper dolls, here’s what we’re buzzing about this week

Chitter Chatter

Print: Out Vulture’s “Guys of Girls Paper Dolls.” Sure, this might be taking our Lena Dunham obsession a bit too far, but we’re totally okay with that.

Check out: Our girl crush Nicole Richie’s style evolution from scruffy to sleek – she’s certainly come a long way since her The Simple Life days.

Know: The Missoni empire is expanding – by two little feet. That’s right, Margherita Missoni, who currently serves as the brand’s accessories director, is expecting her first child with husband Eugenio Amos.

Read: “The 5 Commandments of Editor Style.” And no, “Thou shalt not covet” is not one of them – so go ahead and covet away (we will be).

Salute: Lena Dunham, Time’s “Coolest Person of the Year.” Since we like to pretend she’s our best friend, that makes us cool by association, right?

The ReTweet: 5 Style Bytes You May Have Missed

@Fashionista_com: The shoes in Karl Lagerfeld’s new footwear collab are dishwasher safe and perfect for puddle jumping! Here’s why: bit.ly/QBYJwF
Because who doesn’t want dishwasher-safe shoes?

@nanettelepore: what to get the headmistress?? day 1 of my 25 day holiday gift guide on.fb.me/QBT5L1
People still have those? We thought Matilda was the only one.

@psimadethis: When I meet someone who is NOT on Instagram I feel like it’s my civic duty to pressure them to join the epic photo/filter party of life.
The whole world needs to be educated on the filter-happy photos they’re missing.

@mindykaling: Ugh why did I buy these stupid square plates, I’m not cool enough for this
And we thought square plates automatically made you cool.

@lenadunham: Whatta world where Rihanna instagrams new pictures of Chris Brown every day but I’m scared to tweet a pic of my boyfriend in a weird parka
That’s probably because the Twitterverse isn’t ready for weird parkas.
