Let’s hear it for the Girls. On Monday, HBO announced the January return of Hannah Horvath and friends with a juicy two-minute trailer.

The clip hints at tensions between Hannah and her beau Adam and even teases a peek at Shoshanna’s familial background. (Yes, she came from somewhere.) Fans can also be assured that Marnie’s controversial singing voice will make another appearance.

Good thing I have Lena Dunham’s new book to tide me over until the season’s debut.

A bold new haircut. A best-selling book. Lena Dunham is on a headline-stealing roll and shows zero signs of stopping. The actress-slash-writer announced at the New York Film Festival that she’s adapting the young adult novel Catherine, Called Birdy into a film.

The book (a favorite from the 90s) is set in late-13th-century England and focuses on a twelve-year-old girl’s attempts to ditch suitors. The only catch in Lena’s plans? She seems to think the screenplay will be a tough sell to studios. “I just need to find someone who will fund a PG-13 medieval movie,” Lena said.

Wishing you luck, girl. If the movie gets made, this mega-fan will definitely be at the midnight showing.

If you’ve ever questioned which friendships are worth fighting for, how loud is too loud, or whether you can wear booty shorts and still be called a feminist (answer: yes), Lena Dunham is here to set the record straight. ask-lena

In anticipation of her September 30 Not That Kind of Girl book release, the Girls star offers sage advice in a fearlessly frank video series titled Ask Lena. In each hilarious installment of the 12-part video series, she answers real questions submitted by fans. Topics range from provocative dressing to “unfunny girlfriends.”

I would highly recommend giving the show a watch to tide you over until her book release. Divvy it up at two videos a day – or if you’re a binge-watcher like me, watch them all right now.

If you’re anything like me, it’s almost like Lena Dunham – a.k.a. Hannah Horvath – is speaking directly to you via her HBO original series, Girls. She can’t pay rent? You can’t pay rent. (Well, sometimes.) Ups and downs with your best friend? Preaching to the choir. And now, us just-like-me fans can connect with Dunham through a whole new medium: a book.

Is there anything the Girls creator can’t inspire? We didn’t think so.

In the wake of last week’s controversy in which Jezebel offered $10,000 for Lena Dunham’s untouched Vogue photos, a new (much more positive) idea arose. An Indiegogo campaign is now seeking to counter the obscene proposition by raising $10,000 for none other than women’s empowerment. The donation, which is set to go to Step Up Women’s Network, is already nearly half raised – and there’s still 25 more days to go. Now this is one cause we can get behind.

Guys. Lena Dunham is your newest Vogue cover girl. Well, reportedly. According to Page Six, the Girls creator will grace the cover of the esteemed fashion magazine’s February issue. And it makes sense. I mean, she’s a popular actress, respected writer, and most importantly, will no doubt draw in a number of young readers to Vogue’s typically more mature audience. So why exactly is this news?

That’s right, the new Girls Season 3 trailer has dropped on the masses. (Watch. ASAP.) And it features none other than J.Crew’s creative director, Jenna Lyons. The only question I ask – does this finally mean Hannah will spend a season fully clothed?

What Anna Wintour wants, Anna Wintour gets. Her latest desire? Lena Dunham on the cover of Vogue. Willing to break with tradition, the magazine’s editor in chief may feature the Girls creator “even though she doesn’t really conform to the body type that Vogue has featured for most of its history,” a source told Radar Online. And how is she setting this up, you ask? Over a fancy, top-secret dinner, of course.

If this collaboration does happen, one thing’s for sure: I’ll be first in line to get my hands on one of those glossies.
