3 Boot & Skirt Pairings to Try

Riding Boots with a Miniskirt
CM: “This is a classic look that can be revamped each season by choosing different shirt and sweater pairings. Incorporating colored or patterned tights adds a bit of texture. If the weather works in your favor, feel free to nix the tights.”

Everyone knows that boots are made for winter, right? Well, call me unconventional, but I’m a year-round fan of certain styles. Winter, spring, summer – you name the season and I’m wearing them. The best part? It’s a big money-saver when it comes to pedicures.

1. In the spring, throw on a pair of shorts and mid-calf boots. It’s a celebrity favorite in California, and there’s no reason you can’t pull it off in the Northeast, too. On top, always go for a loose shirt to balance out the look.

2. In the summer, toughen up ladylike sundresses with an unexpected suede bootie. Just make sure to pick a pair that hits no higher than the ankle to avoid overheating.

3. When the fall chill starts to set in, look to a fitted skirt and heeled boot. Remember: always allow a few inches between your hem and your boot.

4. In the winter (or rather, boot season), break out that miniskirt you always reserve for summer, add tights, and pull on a pair of flat over-the-knee boots. The key here is to skip a heel so you’ll look polished and appropriately pulled-together.
