It’s not just the drama and laughs we tune in to on HBO’s Girls – we’re analyzing the clothing, too. Following this group of four twenty-something friends (and sometimes foes), every personality can take a sartorial cue from Lena Dunham’s hit show. Study up on each character’s style, then set your DVR for this weekend’s season four finale.

Girls Style

Clockwise from top left: Jessa, Marnie, Shoshanna, and Hannah

The definition of a free spirit. Dressed in laid-back boho pieces, she looks like a world traveler, because she is.

Whether a polished artgallery assistant or a beanie-loving musician, she always appears put together – no matter how uncertain her life seems.

Girly, bubbly, and statement-making. Her signature look? Let’s just say she’s never met a hair accessory she didn’t like.

With an effortless and vintageinspired vibe, her outfits often match her every mood, i.e., anything goes.

Shop each character’s wardrobe must-haves in our Get the Look: Style Inspired by HBO‘s Girls Boutique, which opened Saturday, March 21, at 11AM ET.

When I caught word that Matthew McConaughey wouldn’t be returning for season two of True Detective, I have to admit, I panicked. However, considering the HBO show is an anthology and with each season the cast and theme changes, I should have been prepared to see McConaughey go. As for his replacement? It looks like the show might enlist the one and only Brad Pitt. But, to be honest, that’s not really easing my anguish. Or anyone else’s, it seems.

If you’re anything like me, it’s almost like Lena Dunham – a.k.a. Hannah Horvath – is speaking directly to you via her HBO original series, Girls. She can’t pay rent? You can’t pay rent. (Well, sometimes.) Ups and downs with your best friend? Preaching to the choir. And now, us just-like-me fans can connect with Dunham through a whole new medium: a book.

Okay, “lands” is a stretch. I’m going to go out on a limb and say this HBO actress skipped the rigid interview process. But I digress. The annoyingly adorable character you know as Shoshanna (or that girl who licked Peggy’s face in Mad Men) is writing a bimonthly column for Glamour titled “My Zo-Called Life.” And she gushed all about it on Chelsea Lately this week.

Fashionista quotes Mamet, “[My editor] will get e-mails from me at like 4:00 in the morning and I’ll be like, ‘I wanna write about the evolution of eyebrows.’” Who wouldn’t?

Fact is, Shosh could write about drywall and we would still skip lunch to read it.
