Let’s be honest. Aesthetically, the original Google Glass was about as appealing as $2 drugstore frames. So, basically, not the type of eyewear I’d be willing to drop $1,500 on. But when I saw Diane von Furstenberg’s take on the techy specs, well, my opinion did a complete one-eighty.

The 68-year-old designer isn’t a newcomer to Google Glass. In fact, she was the first to feature it on a catwalk during her Spring 2013 show. And now that she’s giving it her own stylish twist, it’s actually something I could see myself wearing. The polarized shades and thick-framed lenses are reminiscent of DVF’s iconic wrap dress – functional with a dash of sexy.

Whether it’s Google Glass, the Samsung GALAXY Gear watch, or Apple hiring Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts to oversee retail operations, the convergence of technology and style is apparently here. Now, as Fashionista tells us, “Wearable tech is getting a fashion-y makeover from Michael Bastian, Rachel Zoe, and more.”

Zoe, Bastian, and others – including Mara Hoffman, whose design is pictured above – have paired with eBay to create limited-edition tech bracelets that double as USB chargers. Maybe it’s just us, but the charger has never looked so good.
