Snooze was just so tempting. You pressed it thrice. And then again. And now? You have a seriously short five minutes to shoot out the door for Monday’s meeting with the boss. And bedhead just won’t do.

Hey, it happens to the best of us. But before you call it quits on Monday altogether, read up on how to get ready faster than you thought humanly possible.

Ready in Five

Countdown… five minutes.
Don’t you dare think about showering. Slip on a black dress and black flats. No matching or hobbling in heels = key. (If it’s wrinkled, toss it in the dryer with a wet sock while you get ready.) Top with a bold accessory – think conversation piece.

Countdown… four minutes.
Run to the bathroom, splash your face with cold water to liven up your skin, and use a quick face wipe (like these, which also boast SPF). Then brush your teeth… or, er, pop some gum.

Countdown… three minutes.
Wake up tired eyes with a caffeinated eye cream, then apply the make-up basics: foundation (or cover-up) and a quick swipe of mascara. Look for products that do double-duty. A moisturizing foundation, for example, or a lash-curling mascara.

Countdown… two minutes.
Break out the oversleeper’s miracle product: dry shampoo. Spray with abandon, brush through, repeat. Add a tiny smidge of lotion to tame flyaways. If results are unsatisfactory, do a quick braid or tie on a head scarf. Any color will do (since you’re wearing black, right?).

Countdown… one minute.
Swipe on some deodorant and finish with a splash of perfume. Remember: Slightly unkempt is passable, but smelly will haunt you for days.

There you have it. Now, off you go.
