First comes love, then comes… plastic surgery? According to NYC dermatologist Dr. Ariel Ostad, more and more engaged women are turning to “hand lifts” instead of filters to make sure their announcement selfies are flawless.

The quick – and pricey – ten-minute procedure involves JUVÉDERM injections that instantly smooth wrinkles and plump skin.  Now, I can appreciate a little pre-Instagram prep work. You know, some lotion and a fresh manicure. But appearance-altering measures? That just seems over the top. (And personally, I can think of much better ways to spend the $1,200 price tag.)

French fashion designer Hedi Slimane might be most famous for his work that parades down runways, but Saint Laurent‘s creative director is also an avid and established photographer. And with the arrival of ELLE‘s June issue, we’ll get to see one of his most beautiful shoots – and subjects: Angelina Jolie.

Slimane shot the Maleficent star for a 16-page editorial portfolio, throughout which Jolie is styled in tailored, and often menswear-inspired, Saint Laurent looks. Stunning as they promise to be, Slimane’s photos aren’t the only reason we’re eager to crack open the issue when it arrives in our mailbox. The famously private Jolie is said to have spoken candidly to ELLE‘s deputy editor, Maggie Bullock, about life with her six growing kids, her humanitarian work, and even how she and partner Brad Pitt keep their romance revved up in the midst of it all. Slimane’s black-and-white portraits are an alluring depiction of a woman whose life is anything but.

Chin implants and G-spot injections have officially become old news. The new beauty fad? Plastic surgery on your feet. And no, I’m not talking bunion surgery à la Victoria Beckham. This latest craze is more on the level of traditional foot binding – except it’s elective. I’m talking toe reshaping and fat injections into the footpad.

The latter procedure, I could understand. Decades of squeezing my size-11 dinosaur feet into size-10 heels (albeit, super fabulous heels) hasn’t exactly made me want to run marathons. And I’m only 25. If you’re in pain? Fine. Go for it. If you’re craving a toe slope that descends like the bars of a handcrafted xylophone, it may be time for a reality check.

Spice Girls fans, hold your breath – Posh just turned 40. Now, while her days of choker necklaces and spaghetti straps are long gone (for now), Victoria Beckham has managed to carry that simple, timeless, “little Gucci dress” aesthetic from pop stardom to businesswoman to motherhood. In honor of her big day, has catalogued 40 of her most memorable looks – and they’re, not surprisingly, much more versatile than her Spice World getups.

For as long as this celeb has been in the spotlight, she’s seldom let her style guard down. As in, every time she wears flats, it’s breaking news. (In a quick Google search, I counted all of two times. In 17 years. No biggie.) With the possible exception of her no-flats rule, we should all take cues. Because if this is what 40 looks like, sign me up.

Check out ELLE for all 40 of Beckham’s most memorable looks.

Yahoo is at it again. Barely a week after announcing Bobbi Brown as its new beauty editor in chief, the Internet giant has poached Joe Zee from ELLE.

Ah, the holiday hangover. Odds are you’re probably suffering from one right now – am I right? Well, buck up. New Year’s Eve hasn’t even happened yet. Lucky for you, ELLE just put together a handy hangover infographic “culled from scientific studies, GOOP, and a sprinkle of facts from bits everywhere.” Translation: It’s the answer to your New Year’s Day prayers. Now, maybe it’s just me, but I say that calls for even more bubbly.

You know the popular crowd in high school everyone was just dying to be a part of? Say hello to its adult equivalent: Alexa Chung. Miroslava Duma. Leandra Medine. Mini moguls with killer wardrobes, they’re the ultimate It girls.

Modern It Girls

That term sound familiar? It’s one that’s been thrown around pretty often lately – but if you ask me, there are only a select few who’ve truly earned the elite title. And it seems like the ladies at ELLE agree. They’ve rounded up their top modern-day It girls – and only five made the cut. Slide through and prepare to acquire a few new girl crushes.

Chitter Chatter

Take: A virtual tour of designer Tanya Taylor’s studio space. Yep, we’re officially obsessed with her style (as is just about every fashion insider).

Know: Gender-bending model Andrej Pejić has made fashion history by being the first-ever androgynous male to grace Elle’s cover – and trust us, it’s worth picking up.

Congratulate: Kate Winslet and Ned Rocknroll on their December nuptials. The best part? (Well, aside from the thought of Kate taking “Rocknroll” as her last name.) It’s rumored that Leonardo DiCaprio was the one to give her away. Looks like she finally let go, Jack.

Watch: Lady Gaga’s upcoming documentary by fashion photographer Terry Richardson. Now, this should be interesting… and probably weird.
