Ever wondered what a typical day is like for our fashion director, Jackie? Well, you’re about to find out. E!, one of our favorite television networks, chose to feature our very own style guru in its “Trendsetters at Work” series. For the piece, E! visited Rue’s New York offices in the heart of Bryant Park to talk style, chic work spaces, and climbing the fashion ladder. Check out a few soundbites below.

How did you get started in your career?
I got an internship at ELLE magazine. I initially had a hybrid role working for both the beauty and the features departments. I got to test out hundreds of new products, learn the science and technology behind beauty products, go to press events and, most importantly, I learned how to write (it’s harder than you think!). Interning is the best way to work out if a job is right for you or not. I knew immediately that I wanted to be in the editorial world. When a fashion position opened up at ELLEgirl magazine I jumped at the chance.

After eight years of witty remarks and oft-raunchy jokes, Chelsea Handler – TV’s sole late-night comedy queen – is stepping down from her E! throne. And now, as Handler gears up to leave Chelsea Lately at the end of this year, we have so many unanswered questions. Who will fill her shoes? What will she do next? And, most importantly: Where will Chuy go?
According to her manager, Irving Azoff, who spoke with The Hollywood Reporter, the comedian has been actively contemplating her post–talk show career. She’s also rumored to be in negotiations with several different “suitors.” Among them? Netflix, FX, and even a few radio stations. The fate of her faithful sidekick, however, remains unknown.
