This spring, the LWD (little white dress) is poised to be much more than simply a wedding staple. Just look to this Diane von Furstenberg sheer black-and-white lace number that is anything but bridal. Then, channel the combo from head-to-toe with these four monochrome must-haves.

Most Coveted

  1. Cameo Dress. The open racer-style back combined with black stripes along the hemline give this LWD a modern silhouette.
  2. R.J. Graziano Charm Bracelets. Look to these sweet pearl beads and locket charms for a touch of white in your wrist stack.
  3. Chanel Vintage Flap Bag. Subtle cross-stitching and black leather trim are chic updates to this classic carryall.
  4. JOIE Leather Sandal. The always-flattering ankle-strap sandal kicks it up a notch with colorblocking and a snakeskin-embossed finish.

Following Pantone’s lead, an eclectic color palette has paraded down the New York Fashion Week runways this past week. The main takeaway? Everyday neutrals have been punched up with soft brights and pastels. Yep, the hues you’re stocking up on for spring will transition right into next fall.

Fall 2015 Color Combos at NYFW

Classic Combos
Say hello to the usual suspects. Winter white, rich navy, and camel all took their turns anchoring looks on the runway. Midnight shades were spotted on timeless coats at Oscar de la Renta and Kendall Jenner opened Diane von Furstenberg in a white wrap dress, while camel suede further cemented the season’s 70s revival.

Lively Complements
Pastels and brights serve as ladylike partners for those tried-and-true neutrals. But come fall, they move beyond mint and lavender. Marigold and peach tones (perfectly paired at J.Crew) are your fast-pass to making a statement without going overboard.

As if a new E! reality TV show isn’t exciting enough, Diane von Furstenberg is celebrating her new series, House of DVF, by dressing America’s leading lady. No, we’re not talking Michelle Obama – this time, it’s the Statue of Liberty.

Six mini replicas of Lady Liberty will be trading their seafoam-green robes for one of DVF’s famous creations. The first of the statuettes was unveiled this morning on The Today Show, but if you’re in the Big Apple, keep an eye out for these ladies in the Meatpacking District, Columbus Circle, Times Square, SoHo, Washington Square, and Midtown East.

If I were the actual Statue of Liberty, I’d be feeling slightly underdressed right about now.

“Little” indulgences – be they small in price or size – can go a long way in boosting your mood. This week, I’m sharing three summer finds, as well as one piece of pint-sized luxury with so much personality it will make your heart sing.

1. DV by Dolce Vita ‘Hoyt’ Romper. Rompers and jumpsuits have come a long way from vintage styles of the 70s. Now more tailored than ever, the cuts are made to flatter in all the right ways.

2. Elie Saab ‘Le Parfum’ Eau de Toilette. Light with fresh floral notes, this is the perfect summer scent – plus, the bottle pulls double-duty as chic vanity décor!

3. Diane von Furstenberg ‘Martha’ Sunglasses. What’s that, you say? Too many sunglasses? Never.

4. Prada Saffiano Tote. A little embellishment never hurt anyone (neither did a mini Prada).

Check out these picks and more on Rue La La this week.

Let’s be honest. Aesthetically, the original Google Glass was about as appealing as $2 drugstore frames. So, basically, not the type of eyewear I’d be willing to drop $1,500 on. But when I saw Diane von Furstenberg’s take on the techy specs, well, my opinion did a complete one-eighty.

DVF Designs for Google Glass

The 68-year-old designer isn’t a newcomer to Google Glass. In fact, she was the first to feature it on a catwalk during her Spring 2013 show. And now that she’s giving it her own stylish twist, it’s actually something I could see myself wearing. The polarized shades and thick-framed lenses are reminiscent of DVF’s iconic wrap dress – functional with a dash of sexy.

Intrigued? The full DVF | Made for Glass collection launches June 23. (And I’ll be first in line.)

This year, the Met Gala dress code called for sweeping ball gowns and full “white tie” attire. And while many stars missed the mark, a select few hit home runs.

Between her amazingly good-looking family (little George included) and her enviable sense of style, it’s no wonder everyone wants to be just like Kate Middleton. So much so, in fact, that the outfits she’s worn while on tour Down Under have been selling out like wildfire. First up? Her Tory Burch dress during a New Zealand playdate. Then there was the flawless Erdem coat while visiting a children’s hospice. And most recently? The ultra-chic navy and white Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress she wore to tour Australia’s Blue Mountains on Thursday.

Mini bags are everywhere right now, and with good reason. Small and compact, they keep all your essentials (credit card, red lipstick – you get the picture) on hand without the bulk of a large tote. Meaning you can go from the bar to the dance floor without missing a beat, or spilling that drink. The three clutches that will change your weekend routine? All right here.

Three DVF Mini Bags You Need Now

1. The Gracie Clutch
Known for its front-flap design, this roomy foldover bag is a day-to-night must – just throw flats inside.

2. The Sutra Clutch
With a structured silhouette and oversized chain link clasp, this pint-sized box packs a big style punch.

3. The Lytton Clutch
Done up with sequins and a signature twig clasp, this small but mighty minaudière is an evening out’s best friend.

Remember that time Whitney Port got a job (insert air quotes) at Diane von Furstenberg on The City? This is way better.

According to Refinery29, “The DVF brand is currently looking to cast eight ‘smart, sophisticated, and savvy people with a great sense of style’ in an unscripted show where they’ll compete to become a DVF brand ambassador.”

Diane von Furstenberg

The best part? Supposedly, you don’t need to be the niece or nephew of a fashion bigwig to snag a spot. But you do need “tons of passion and a great sense of style.” Obviously.

I may not be handing in my notice just yet, but I’ll surely set my DVR. Unscripted access to this icon is something I will not miss.
