Wedding season is officially upon us. And I for one am hyper-aware because in less than two months I’ll be walking down the aisle toward my tuxedo-clad husband-to-be. Sure, the planning has been maddening, but there are plenty of shopping-related silver linings. Here’s a look at some of the things on my list (invitees, take note).

Over the weekend, famed bridal designer Monique Lhuillier debuted a custom gown that satisfied both “something old” and “something new” – but don’t expect to see it in the pages of PEOPLE with her many other celebrity creations. This gown was personal, a stunning number made for her own mother to wear during her parents’ 50th wedding anniversary.

The extravagant gown featured lace from her mother’s original wedding dress, along with a beaded antique-gold overlay (appropriate considering this is the golden anniversary after all). The designer dutifully captured the vow renewal on Instagram, including the long train and bejeweled hairpiece that accessorized the dress. But the best post of all? A picture of her gorgeous mother from 50 years earlier.

The Spring 2015 Bridal Collections have officially arrived. Get your Pinboards ready.

1. Monique Lhuillier‘s entire collection is a dream. But this one gown just single-handedly took “something blue” to a whole new level.

2. Jeweled, sheer, and romantic. Jenny Packham, you’ve done it again.

3. Off-the-shoulder necklines are making a comeback. Hopping aboard the trend train? Mr. Oscar de la Renta himself.

4. Tulle overskirts had a major moment on Amsale‘s runway. (And we loved every second of it.)

5. We always expect inventively gorgeous designs from Vera Wang, and this year’s looks certainly didn’t disappoint.

We love “I do’s” with a point of view. Right now, we’re concentrating on three different – and equally stunning – wedding styles. And we looked to wedding guru Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty for expert advice on how to take each style to the next level.

If the two of you have always been known to march to the beat of your own drum, then why wouldn’t you bring that unique style into your wedding day? It could be vintage, modern, or something totally wild. This is the no-rules, anything-goes, off-the-beaten-path guide to wedding planning. What makes you guys tick? (Not just as individuals, but as a couple.) Jot down a few things. If you try to incorporate everything that makes you awesome you might get a little overwhelmed. Instead, pick a couple of the most important elements and incorporate those into everything from the food to the favors.

Maybe you are super down-to-earth and love all things boho chic. Unorthodox flowers and super yummy food might be the way to go. And if you’re super crafty and creative then get down and dirty with loads of DIY details. This is your moment to get as crazy and kooky as you want! Don’t forget to let your wedding party be themselves, too, by showcasing their killer signature styles.

Two Friends Talk Flowers

Fresh from designing the flowers for our Style. I Do! photo shoot, Tangerine Creations Creative Director Orly Khon sat down with her friend, Rue La La Style Editor Rachel Solomon, to talk work, weddings, and why their worlds aren’t so different after all.

Rachel: I’ve known you for so long, but have never even asked how you got into the flower world!
Orly: Seven or eight years ago I had a friend in event planning, and I began to work events here and there. I was always in interior design, but there was something about working with flowers that I just loved.
