Good tailoring never goes out of style, and neither do menswear-inspired pieces. Has there ever been anything as cool as a woman in a chic suit? We think not. Master the art of androgynous dressing by investing in these three key pieces.

Menswear-Inspired StyleThe Pantsuit
Go tonal and tailored. For a hint of femininity, look to funky oversized buttons and a sharp V-necked jacket.

Menswear-Inspired Style

The Boyfriend Blazer
A.k.a., an all-season staple that can replace any old cardigan. Balance the oversized shape by keeping one piece of your look fitted (like your pants).

Menswear-Inspired Style

The Oxford Shoe
Practical, sophisticated, and downright comfy. Pair these lace-up flats with cropped bottoms to show a hint of ankle for the most flattering effect.

It’s your turn to get the look. Our Borrowed from the Boys: Menswear-Inspired Style Boutique opens Monday, November 23, at 11AM ET.

Big, comfy sweaters. Relaxed boyfriend jeans. We thought we had the guys’ easygoing style covered – until now. A little bit masculine and a touch feminine, getting in on the menswear trend starts with shoes this fall. Keep the rest of your outfit on the ladylike side (think lace, polka dots, and bows), then step into a pair of these toughened-up kicks for just the right contrast.

With olive-green leather and a sturdy stacked heel, these shoes are far from the ones your grandpa used to wear. Slip into some skinnies and toss on a chunky knit sweater. Or rock them at the office with tights, a pencil skirt, and a fitted sweater.

Fashion icons like Alexa Chung have been rocking these lace-up flats for a while. But this pair takes the trend up a notch with an allover suede upper and a slightly elevated sole. Just throw on a pair of skinny ankle jeans and classic chambray, and go.

Ruffles add a girly twist to otherwise edgy combat boots. Pair these with black opaque tights and a miniskirt come cooler weather. Hello, ideal balance.
