A Head for Business: Gwyneth Paltrow Embarks on a New Venture

Love her or hate her, you have to admit that Gwyneth Paltrow has quite the résumé. From winning an Academy Award to founding her own lifestyle website, it seems the mother of two has done it all. So when Blo Blow Dry Bar announced yesterday that she will be working on the company’s creative direction, I wasn’t all that shocked. Although I did wonder: Why her?

Well, according to the beauty franchise, it was her “keen business instinct” and “emphasis on high-quality customer experience” that led to the collaboration. I have a feeling, however, that it might have more to do with last year’s talk of Gwyneth opening her own blow dry bar. Avoiding competition? Probably. But I am excited to see where she’ll take the company. (Think goop + blowouts.)
