I love my mother, but she is, by all accounts, a neat freak. So, for as long as I can remember, we’ve always had a fake Christmas tree, because pine needles on the rug? Unacceptable. Well, as it turns out, she’s not the only one who hates Christmas trees that shed – Anna Wintour does too. That’s right, America’s supreme arbiter of good taste threw out her family’s tree early this year because it was “too messy.” Oh, Anna.
So what does AW’s little tree toss mean for the future of Christmas? Well, you can probably expect to see tree sales take a nosedive next year (Mindy Kaling’s already jumping on the bandwagon) while Anna and my mother bond over their mutual disdain for pine needles. And their love of my impeccable style. Obviously.
