For peaceful sleep: Take a steamy 15-minute bath before bedtime to raise your body temperature. When it drops, you’ll coast into dreamland.

For bright lips: Fall hues may be moody, but don’t hesitate to perk them up with a neon lip color. Consider it a statement accessory for your neutral pieces.

For blemishes: Use a safety pin to pop a gel capsule pain reliever like Advil – instead of popping the pimple – and squeeze it onto skin.

For unwinding: Draw a relaxing bath. Just add dry lavender, epsom salt,  lavender essential oil, and eucalyptus essential oil to the tub.

For your bottom half: The best thing to scoop up at a thrift store, sample sale, or can’t-miss Rue La La Boutique? Skirts. They are one of the easiest items to tailor.

For aching feet: Rumor has it, you can alleviate stiletto pain by taping together your third and fourth toes.

For your hair: Forks aren’t just for pasta anymore. Twirl one through your strands (à la Disney’s The Little Mermaid) and dry with a diffuser nozzle for the ideal wave.

For your tabletop: Want to inject a little industrial Zen into your home? Pour concrete into paper cups, stick in a tall tapered candle, peel away the cup, and voilà! New centerpieces.

For your ankles: Your Achilles’ heel? Stilettos. Strengthen your ankles for that new pair by tracing letters in the air with your foot.

Whenever I ask my mother if I “look okay,” she always replies, “Yes, but throw on a little lipstick.” Over at NARS, the mother of all beauty brands, lipstick is also on the agenda as the label celebrates 20 years in the business. A newly announced fall campaign features a collection of 40 game-changing hues with 68-year-old English actress Charlotte Rampling as the face of the campaign.

The Audacious Lipstick Collection will launch in September and is inspired by the 12 colors in François Nars’s first-ever collection. Unlike most fall shades, these range from electric red to lavender and can be worn well after the leaves turn. The impeccable ad features Charlotte, a longtime muse of NARS, in a stunning black-and-white photo taken by the founder himself.

Rumor has it that this collection delivers full color in just one stroke. So clear off the vanity, because it may be the only lipstick you’ll ever need. And, of course, my mother would definitely approve.

We’ve been up and down the beauty aisle countless times this spring. But can you blame us? These trends are irresistible.

1. Turns out, berry shades aren’t just for fall. You can rock a vampy pout even when temps start to soar.

2. More of a citrus fan? You’re in luck. Orange lips are making waves this season.

3. Midi hair is officially in. Just snip strands between the collarbone and jawline for a fresh look.

4. Pink. Mint. Baby blue. Whatever the soft hue, your next nail appointment should be all about pastel polish.

5. Cat eyes are still the purrfect way to make a fierce statement this spring.

In recent months, Yahoo! has been making headlines with its heavy-hitting hires (in November, the company announced Katie Couric as its global anchor). And now, it’s at it again with its newest all-star addition of Bobbi Brown as beauty editor in chief.

Brown announced the news on her blog Wednesday, saying, “As EIC, I’ll work to curate smart, strong content that will teach women how to be their best selves.” With eight beauty books, an obsession-worthy product line, and years of experience, I personally can’t think of a better fit for the job. Now, here’s hoping she can show us how to tackle that whole blue-lipstick trend.

As soon as the seasons change, so does my skincare regimen. Sure, I slather on the SPF-infused moisturizer year-round, but now that it’s spring, I’m looking to liven up my pale Northeast complexion – without any damaging rays of sun. Cue Clarins to the beauty rescue.

I spoke with one of the brand’s insiders, who gave me the scoop on its new Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster. Which, as it happens, is what super-chic celebrity stylist Sophie Pera uses to maintain her enviably bronzed complexion. I dare you to tell me you’re not preemptively obsessed after watching the video below.

Bring on the makeup and hair brushes. Your beauty regime should change with the season.

1. Red. Oxblood. Burgundy. Every set of lips deserves a trip to the dark side.

2. The cat-eye is coming back strong, and we’re all about it. Meow.

3. Some of these braids are a little too intricate for our skill level, but we can definitely manage the basics.

4. It’s possible to wear blue eye shadow without looking like Mimi from The Drew Carey Show. We promise.

5. Drop the tweezers. Strong eyebrows are in. And so are gold ones (seriously).
