From bold to understated, the fall 2013 beauty trends are here
New York Fashion Week has seen its fair share of new fashion trends, and right along with them are the fresh beauty looks. So what can we expect to stock our makeup bags with this fall? Between the barely-there makeup at BCBGMAXAZRIA; blue and purple eyeshadow at Jason Wu; nude manicures at La Perla and DANNIJO; and graphic nail art at Rebecca Minkoff, Nicholas K, and Degen (just to name a few) – it’s safe to say that bold and understated will live together in harmony.
And the hair? Put those curling irons away, because straight blunt cuts and messy, undone styles – from the grunge look at BCBGMAXAZRIA to roughed up ponytails at Richard Chai and Tadashi Shoji – are back.

While there were plenty of showstopping accessories on the BCBGMAXAZRIA runway yesterday, it was their brigade of beanies that had everyone talking. Like a cherry on a sundae, the slouchy knit hats deliciously topped off the label’s embroidered tunics and printed shifts.

Ah, the stocking – proof that size certainly doesn’t count when it comes to gifting. I personally find the stocking portion to be my favorite part of Christmas morning (along with the coffee-cake portion, of course), and I have a hunch that your loved ones hold the same sentiment.
Using the Get Gifty: Our Holiday Gift Shop as a guide, here are six easy ways to surprise and delight your favorites come present time.

Clockwise, from top left:
Patterned silk tie. Between wedding invites and the workplace, he’ll be beyond grateful for this little silk number.
Diamond studs. It’s little surprises like these that keep the stocking game fun.
iPhone clutch. There’s no way a phone can be misplaced when it’s resting within a little sparkle and shine.
Wine bottle stopper. Mr. Wine Aficionado will be thrilled (and you can bet he’ll share his vino).
Tortoise sunglasses. This logo (hint: it’s a spade) is what Christmas dreams are made of.
Kids’ necklace & bracelet set. Introduce your little lady the art of mixing and matching.
Get Gifty: Our Holiday Gift Shop is now open.
