Guys. Lena Dunham is your newest Vogue cover girl. Well, reportedly. According to Page Six, the Girls creator will grace the cover of the esteemed fashion magazine’s February issue. And it makes sense. I mean, she’s a popular actress, respected writer, and most importantly, will no doubt draw in a number of young readers to Vogue’s typically more mature audience. So why exactly is this news?

I love my mother, but she is, by all accounts, a neat freak. So, for as long as I can remember, we’ve always had a fake Christmas tree, because pine needles on the rug? Unacceptable. Well, as it turns out, she’s not the only one who hates Christmas trees that shed – Anna Wintour does too. That’s right, America’s supreme arbiter of good taste threw out her family’s tree early this year because it was “too messy.” Oh, Anna.

So what does AW’s little tree toss mean for the future of Christmas? Well, you can probably expect to see tree sales take a nosedive next year (Mindy Kaling’s already jumping on the bandwagon) while Anna and my mother bond over their mutual disdain for pine needles. And their love of my impeccable style. Obviously.

Feeling out office dress codes is tough. Figuring out what to wear in the Vogue headquarters in front of – gulp – Anna Wintour? That’s beyond intimidating. I’m having heart palpitations just thinking about it.

These 13 people, however, were tasked with just that – and some with just a few hours’ notice.

To this day, I still remember what I wore to my interview here at Rue three years ago: a white Banana Republic shift, a silk, blush-colored Zara blazer, a kate spade new york bag, and nude open-toe pumps from ALDO (give a girl a break on that one – I was right out of college). But what would I wear to an interview with Ms. Wintour? Let me take in a quick screening of The Devil Wears Prada and get back to you.

What Anna Wintour wants, Anna Wintour gets. Her latest desire? Lena Dunham on the cover of Vogue. Willing to break with tradition, the magazine’s editor in chief may feature the Girls creator “even though she doesn’t really conform to the body type that Vogue has featured for most of its history,” a source told Radar Online. And how is she setting this up, you ask? Over a fancy, top-secret dinner, of course.

If this collaboration does happen, one thing’s for sure: I’ll be first in line to get my hands on one of those glossies.
