Immediately recognizable in any ensemble, Amrita Singh‘s Indian-inspired pieces have made quite the mark on the jewelry world. Using vibrant colors and geometric shapes, her designs are more like mini masterpieces than baubles (but you already knew that). What you don’t know? Read on.

  1. Amrita graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
  2. She completed the prestigious two-year executive development program at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City.
  3. She’s worked with world-renowned designers, like Oscar de la Renta and Christian Lacroix.
  4. She launched her first collection in January 2003.
  5. She has two jewelry lines: her contemporary label and her fine jewelry collection.
  6. She draws upon the designs of India and the Mughal dynasty to create artisanal Indian jewelry and accessories that are both distinctive and timeless.
  7. Her jewelry fuses old-world aesthetics with new-world fashion, resulting in breathtakingly unique, wearable works of art.
  8. She was nominated by FGI (Fashion Group International) for the Rising Star Award in the Fine Jewelry Category in 2006, 2007, and 2008.

From putting off laundry day to flowers even I am not capable of killing, here’s a look at all the lovely things I’ll be snapping up off of Rue this week.

1. Maggie by Magaschoni cashmere dress. Staying comfy-casual has always been my preferred code of dress (we’re talking since before first steps were taken), and this cashmere number totally counts as looking smartly put-together, while feeling entirely lounge-y. Our Maggie by Magaschoni Boutique opens Monday, October 22, at 11AM ET.

2. NDI Florals bouquet. “Taking care of living creatures” may not top the list of things I’m fantastic at, so these faux florals are just the bouquet for me. Our NDI Florals Boutique opens Thursday, October 25, at 11AM ET.

3. Brookstone® earbuds. My surest of travel companions this holiday season? Screaming babies. Loads of them.
