@scalzi: I always count it as a victory when I eat barbecue and my shirt comes out of the experience unstained.
This. Especially when we’re wearing our new… well… anything.
@Aryooki: on Friday I had an iced mocha from @jbchang ‘s flour in Central Square. During a horrible day we determined that it was a unicorn in a cup.
If the coffee is a unicorn, the cookies must be Pegasus.
@MarcJacobsIntl: Close your eyes & make a wish: http://mjin.tl/wshcne
We wish Marc Jacobs would visit the Rue offices. (We’ll also blow out some birthday candles if it will help.)
@deadmau5: Nobody likes champagne.
Let’s agree to disagree.
@SHARON_NEEDLES: Tonight the house of haunt is having bread for dinner and watching all the new arrested development
Carbs + comedy = our perfect night.

From water tower nightclubs to Bachelorette raps, here's what we're buzzing about this week

Watch: “Goat Lucky” – the most addictively random twist on Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” yet.
Plot: Your fantasy draft for The Bachelorette. Des rapping with Soulja Boy should get you more than amped for tonight’s premiere.
Rethink: Your idea of exclusive. This nightclub popped up inside a water tower. The only way in? Up a ladder and through a trap door.
Pick Up: This Ferragamo comic book. Shoes have never been so fun. (Okay, we lie.)

Our top 4 picks of the week

Guy style – a whole summer’s worth. Take laptop to patio. Crack beer. All set? Read on.
1. Style Girlfriend
A girlfriend’s perspective on a guy’s getup. Perk: she’ll never borrow your sweaters and dub them her own style statement.
2. The Dandy Project
Okay. So organza doesn’t exactly reek of masculinity. But Izzy makes it work. Writing + photography = irresistibly superb.
3. Unabashedly Prep
There’s nothing like hovering on the cusp of Memorial Day weekend to get us in the mood for prep. So go ahead: pop your collar. Eat a lobster roll.
4. Kempt
UrbanDaddy’s style blog. Enough said. You’re welcome.
Now, break.

@allyinwondrland: These raw chocolate chip cookies are the best thing to happen to me. http://pinterest.com/pin/151292868704732553/ …
Might as well throw out our ovens (assuming they’re not already full of shoes).
@dkny: I really hope I’ll be invited to Yahoo & Tumblr’s wedding.
Can we be your +1? Pretty please?
@bobsaget: Had to cut my workout short today. Spotted an ab and ran out to celebrate.
And here we were, thinking we were the only ones. Must be all that imaginary exercise.
@tarzansgrrl: Drink like your fave fictional character! The Cocktail Chart of Film & Literature http://ow.ly/lfi8O
We’ll take Carrie Bradshaw’s Cosmo. Or maybe Jay Gatsby’s Gin Rickey, depending on how we’re feeling at happy hour.
@EllenPage: Let me retweet a tweet from a while ago:
Sarcasm is super easy to read on twitter

It’s that simple
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. And we here at Rue want to do our part.
This month, the Child Mind Institute (in collaboration with our favorite wellie maker, Hunter Boot) launched its third annual Speak Up for Kids initiative – aimed at helping children with psychiatric disorders get on the path to a healthy, happy, productive life. As part of their campaign, they’ve put together this quick, educational quiz, making it easier than ever to inform the public about their cause while simultaneously raising funds to help children get the care they need.
![BLG-1484-Hunter-Boots-Charity[1]](http://www.ruelala.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/BLG-1484-Hunter-Boots-Charity1.jpg)
Are there more taxidermists or child psychiatrists in the U.S.? You’re about to find out. For every person who clicks on this link and completes the quiz, Hunter Boot will donate $1 to the Child Mind Institute. So, click, click, click away – and share with your friends, too. Seriously, making a difference in a child’s life is as easy as spreading the word.

5 reasons you're going to want it in your shopping arsenal

Android users, you’ve spoken. And the powers that be here at Rue heard you. We’ve rolled out our brand new, fully-loaded app – just in time to shop from your beach towel.
Here’s why we think you’ll really like it:
- We streamlined navigation, so you can jump between categories easier and faster. Ideal for when you’re grabbing something for yourself, your significant other, and your digs all at once.
- We linked up with Google Wallet to make checking out as painless as possible. With all of your credit card info safely stored (where no one will find it), you’re out of there in fewer clicks than ever before.
- See items you’re lusting after up close and personal with our beautiful high-res images.
- It’s also easier to select your size. (Thanks for letting us know that this one needed a little fixing.)
- Overall, the performance just runs smoother. We addressed all the bugs you so graciously called out. Something tells us you won’t miss them one bit.
Our new app is compatible with devices running on Android 2.2 (Froyo) or newer.
Simply stop by Google Play to download or upgrade.
