WWD asked fashion heavy-hitters to sketch their dream Christmas stockings – and of course, they’re as elaborate as the designs you’d see on the runway.

Lela Rose went for a stiletto-inspired silhouette filled with kitchen essentials to signal her love of holiday entertaining. Anna Sui, meanwhile, went more old-school in her version, using a Victorian boot shape with festive touches of glitter and sequins.

If you want to literally try making one of the creations, Betsey Johnson added instructions to her sketch: “Take a nylon-seamed stocking, add fringe down the back…and hope to inspire Santa to give you things that you lack.”

Since their Vogue cover last spring, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have continued winning the affection of high fashionThe couple’s latest move? Entering the world of luxe advertising for Balmain’s Spring/Summer 2015 menswear campaign.

Conceptualized by the house’s creative director Olivier Rousteing, who also happens to be their close pal, the ads show the duo posing provocatively together – and looking downright flawless. With no shortage of kissing, face-grabbing, and down-to-there necklines on both parties, Olivier has dubbed the campaign “The Balmain Love.”

The real takeaway here? If there’s anyone that can make a leather hoodie and chartreuse sequins look this good, it’s Kimye.

Ever wanted to twirl center stage, wrapped in tulle? Well, now is the time to dress like a prima ballerina. This standout winter trend is equally charming dressed up (with a pleated skirt and flats) or down (think leggings and a cozy sweater). Better start mastering that pirouette.

Most Coveted

  1. Jill Jill Stuart Pleated Fit and Flare Dress. A fit and flare silhouette with a full skirt? A ballerina trademark.
  2. Stephen Dweck Drop Earrings. Chandelier earrings are the ideal dramatic accessory for opening night.
  3. Chloé “Bronte” Shoulder Bag. A pretty-in-pink petite shoulder bag completes this elegant outfit.
  4. Valentino “Rockstud” Flat. Embellished T-strap flats are not your typical ballet slipper, but these look just as graceful.

The rumors are true: after this February’s showsNew York Fashion Week will be forced out of Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park, its home since 2010.

The NYC Parks Advocates just reached a settlement with the city after arguing that NYFW’s tents and equipment illegally took over the public space, using the park for commercial purposes. Due to their claim, Fashion Week will be prevented from renewing its contract with Lincoln Center, which was supposed to house the event until 2020.

Although a new location hasn’t been named yet, I have no doubt the street-style stars will flock (#selfies and all).

Alexander Wang has only been at Balenciaga for a couple of years, but he’s already left a mark on the house’s bag game. His latest addition? The Neo Classic Mini, a petite shoulder bag with a chain strap that has street-style star written all over it.

This newest style builds off the Balenciaga heritage while keeping the designer’s modern aesthetic in mind. The duo of top-notch leather and minimal hardware has become a signature within Alexander’s namesake label, so its no surprise that the formula also works for the iconic French house.

Currently, the $1,635 bag comes in black, navy, and a very photogenic shade of bubblegum pink. And in January, a limited-edition, electric-blue option will hit the brand’s online store. All eyes are on February though, when it’s pretty much guaranteed that the Neo Classic Mini will be spotted on shoulders throughout fashion month.

A dress that combines special-occasion style with shapewear? It does exist. Every NUE by Shani number comes with built-in figure-enhancing technology. Read on to see how it works (then snag one to enhance those get-fit resolutions).

NUE by Shani

Construction
Made of compression fabric, the inner construction of a NUE dress is specially woven with spun Lycra to shape and mold the body. Which means you appear a size smaller, even before the New Year’s diet kicks in.

Tailoring Tricks
NUE dresses combine soft yet structured fabrics with precise darting and ruching to boost your natural shape. The result? A figure-flattering dress any woman can be confident in.

Patent-Pending Technology
Founder Shani Grosz incorporates the latest shapewear technology into her designs, eliminating the need for uncomfortable boning and waist-cinching contraptions.

Now that you’re acquainted with this multi-tasking line, get shopping. Our NUE by Shani Boutique opened Thursday, December 18, at 11AM ET.

While making the rounds in NYC last week, Kate Middleton appeared polished per usual. But last night in East London she was spotted looking, well, almost like one of us. The ground-breaking garment she wore? A sweatshirt.

En route to work with a group of Beaver Scouts, the Duchess wore a black zip-up hoodie, J Brand jeans, and tall black boots. She still looked every bit the beauty queen, even without the couture threads we’re used to seeing.

A princess getting cozy in loungewear? That’s a trend every commoner can get behind.

For the fashionistas on your list, nothing short of stylish will do. Think outside the gift box to ensure that yours is the present they reach for first. Read on for wrapping tips so Instagram-friendly, they won’t even mind if the package is empty.

Holiday Wrapping Tips

Belt It Up
Instead of using ribbon, accent a wrapped package with an on-trend belt, which also doubles as a bonus gift. Textiles like grosgrain and canvas are easiest to work with. For a truly standout wrap job (and a healthy dose of contrast), go for one with buttery leather accents and a buckle for a metallic touch.

Bundle It with a Scarf
Save paper and wrap a box in a super-soft scarf instead. Tuck a sprig of holly or a decorative branch of pinecones into the folds and secure with a pin. Guaranteed to wow (and warm).

For a tasteful play on texture and dimension, tie your gift with a bow and fasten it with a brooch. Opt for one in a richly patterned fabric like we did, or for a vintage-lover, channel old-school elegance with a glittering, jewelry-inspired piece.
