Whimsical dressing is one way to escape the dreariness of the impending winter weather. Enchanted forests came to life on the Fall 2014 runways with leafy sets, embroidered animal motifs, and hooded capes, making a mysterious, dreamlike vibe one of the season’s most compelling trends. Here are five key items to complete your fairytale look.

most-coveted-fairytale-dressing

  1. Casadei Suede Butterfly Shoe. Rich black suede and butterfly appliques add a playful twist on the standard strappy sandal.
  2. Bottega Veneta Snakeskin Bag. A classic shape is made current with genuine green snakeskin and black hardware.
  3. Caruana Bordeaux Wool Hooded Coat. Pull on this luxurious coat – a wearable take on Little Red Riding Hood’s signature look – for extra warmth on dark winter days.
  4. Shoshanna Multicolor Printed Dress. Swap your usual LBD for dark graphic prints that evoke a sense of drama.
  5. gorjana “Buckley” 18K Plated Antler Drop Earrings. Delicate antler earrings are a subtle nod to the outdoorsy trend.

From Los Angeles to Brazil, these celebs caught our eye in floor-grazing dresses that flattered in all the right ways.

Best-Dressed Celebs

  1. Amy Adams stunned in a Gucci number with a plunging neckline, antique beading, and glass embroidery at the 2014 LACMA Art+Film Gala.
  2. Olivia Palermo channeled a modern 70s vibe in a dress from Mango and her signature skinny belt to support jewelry designer Emar Batalha in São Paulo, Brazil.
  3. Selena Gomez stepped up her game in a sophisticated, figure-hugging Gucci gown at the 2014 LACMA Art+Film Gala, keeping accessories to a minimum so this one-of-a-kind dress could shine.

On Monday night, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue magazine finally announced their latest Fashion Fund winner (drumroll please): Paul Andrew. The British-born shoe and accessories designer has worked at major labels, including Donna Karan and Alexander McQueen, and notably outfitted Lupita Nyong’o with red pumps at this year’s Golden Globes.

Impressed yet? This big honor puts him in the same league as past winners Alexander Wang, Joseph Altuzarra, and Proenza Schouler. Along with bragging rights, Andrew took home $300,000 and a yearlong mentorship with a fashion power player of his choice. His pick? Nike CEO Mark Parker. Andrew told Style.com, “The core of my business is great design with added comfort, and that is very much what Nike is about, too. I would love to be able to pick his brain and, ultimately, collaborate with him.”

With the prize money, Andrew plans to design the most-comfortable shoes on the market. Heels that look good and feel good? Sign me up ASAP.

You’ve spotted that MK logo everywhere. And now, you’ll probably see it even more. Michael Kors is taking on tech with a stylish twist, launching a collection of gadget-friendly accessories including phone-charging cases, earbuds, and more – crafted to resemble lipstick tubes and cosmetic compacts, of course.

The label has already dabbled with a few swoon-worthy phone covers, but this new collection will cater to on-the-go customers in need of a travel-friendly power source. Which means more battery juice for your phone, even without an outlet nearby.

So, how much will these on-trend extras cost you? The lipstick charger rings in at $58 while the Powermat kit is $140 – an investment worth making to avoid awkwardly charging your phone at the bar.

This time of year it’s easy to rely on a less-than-exciting uniform. I often step out in skinny jeans and a classic blouse or sweater. But a statement accessory – a feminine extra like an animal print or a string of pearls – can elevate your tried-and-true ensemble to an anything-but-basic look.

Most Coveted Statement Accessories

1. RED Valentino Bow Clutch. Leopard print is equal parts provocative and sweet in this bow-shaped silhouette.

2. Stella & Ruby Tassel Necklace. Choose a simple dark-hued or jewel-toned top for a contrast that will let these pearls shine.

3. Balenciaga Paris Eau de Parfum. With notes of violet and cedarwood, this French fragrance is both lovely and mysterious.

4. Dior Satin D’Orsay Pump. Don’t just save these for special occasions. These stilettos add just enough glam to dress up dark skinnies and a black crewneck sweater.

For your suede pieces: Caught in the rain with a beloved suede tote or pair of shoes? Try rubbing an eraser on a water mark to make it vanish.

For wine stains: Rumor has it that spilled red vino can be remedied by (weirdly enough) pouring white wine on the affected fabric to dilute the stain, then sprinkling salt on top to prevent the red from setting.

For wrinkled clothing: Skip ironing and grab your blow-dryer to smooth out creases. Just hang the item, stand a couple of inches away, and blow-dry the garment until the wrinkles disappear.

Lottie, little sister to supermodel Kate Moss, is gaining momentum in her modeling career. Following a covetable role in Calvin Klein ads – and trailing in her older sibling’s footsteps – the Brit’s doe-eyed face now stars in RED Valentino’s winter campaign.

Photographed by industry legend Tim Walker, 16-year-old Lottie lets her playful side show in the quirky cartoon-inspired shoot. Looks like Kendall Jenner might have some competition for reigning teen model.
