Following Pantone’s lead, an eclectic color palette has paraded down the New York Fashion Week runways this past week. The main takeaway? Everyday neutrals have been punched up with soft brights and pastels. Yep, the hues you’re stocking up on for spring will transition right into next fall.

Fall 2015 Color Combos at NYFW

Classic Combos
Say hello to the usual suspects. Winter white, rich navy, and camel all took their turns anchoring looks on the runway. Midnight shades were spotted on timeless coats at Oscar de la Renta and Kendall Jenner opened Diane von Furstenberg in a white wrap dress, while camel suede further cemented the season’s 70s revival.

Lively Complements
Pastels and brights serve as ladylike partners for those tried-and-true neutrals. But come fall, they move beyond mint and lavender. Marigold and peach tones (perfectly paired at J.Crew) are your fast-pass to making a statement without going overboard.

What do you get when you give a GoPro camera to a 6-foot-tall supermodel during New York Fashion Week? An inside look at the life of Karlie Kloss. From Good Morning America to Carolina Herrera, the clip shows us what it takes to be (literally) on top of the style world.

Karlie begins the day promoting her March Vogue cover (co-starring BFF Taylor Swift, no less), then walks the runway at Lincoln Center, all while donning perfect hair and makeup. After a glimpse of her reality, it’s decided: we’ll walk in her shoes anytime.

If you thought Lady Gaga’s red-carpet entrances were OMG-worthy, they’re nothing compared to her epic Valentine’s Day. The singer’s boyfriend, actor Taylor Kinney, popped the question on February 14, after he had already showered her with a truly enviable rose bouquet.

The pop star said yes to Taylor and a heart-shaped diamond stunner, posting a photo of her new bling on Instagram yesterday. Post-proposal, the pair celebrated their good news at Joanne Trattoria, the NYC Italian restaurant owned by Gaga’s family.

With a history of head-turning ensembles, we can’t wait to see her over-the-top wedding gown. (And more importantly, which lucky designer gets to create it.) Now the only question is, how do we score an invite?

For sturdier tights: Three quick steps prep a new pair of tights for long-lasting wear. Run them under water and squeeze out the excess liquid. Put them in a plastic bag and freeze overnight. Let them warm to room temperature and slip them on.

For salt stains on clothing: Don’t despair if sidewalk salt covers the back of your pants. Soak a clean rag with one part white vinegar to two parts water. Treat each stain and then pat dry.

For too-long black skinnies: Need a shorter hemline but want to avoid a trip to the tailor? Take advantage of your knee crease, grabbing the fabric and pulling upward to fold over until you hit the desired length.

Trendsetting probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about the Oval Office. But some surprising brands have become iconic thanks to their presidential ties. While Michelle Obama is committed to up-and-coming talent, we’re turning our attention to three style standbys made popular by America’s executive suite.

Presidential Style

Brooks Brothers
This men’s clothier has a deep-rooted American history. It gifted Abraham Lincoln a custom coat, outfitted World War I troops, and has supported stateside manufacturing. Not to mention, 39 out of 44 sitting Presidents have worn the label.

Jack Rogers
That signature whipstitched leather sandal? It was inspired by none other than Jackie Kennedy. Following an early-60s Italian vacation, the impeccably stylish First Lady asked a Palm Beach cobbler to recreate her favorite vacation-ready shoe.

Oscar de la Renta
This Dominican-born designer managed to dress an impressive roster of first ladies. His inauguration gowns for Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush made headlines, but his hue-happy skirt suits added a touch of whimsy to Capitol Hill–style throughout his fifty-year career.

The most stylish room in the White House? The First Lady’s closet, of course. With an agenda that spans galas to press events, her wardrobe has to be ready for it all. Take a cue from every fashionable FLOTUS with three looks that work both on and beyond Pennsylvania Avenue.

FLOTUS Style

The On-the-Go Outfit
A
n ensemble-making dress is essential for last-minute appearances and interviews. Mimic Michelle Obama’s polish with a fit-and-flare number that commands attention on any podium.

The Ball Gown
Dressing up is fun for everyone, including America’s leading lady. And no one does it better in the gala department than Laura Bush. Just channel her elegant style with a floor-sweeping gown in a rich jewel tone for your next black-tie event.

The Off-Duty Look
All work and no play? Negative – even FLOTUS gets a vacation. Take a cue from Jackie O. and rock your brightest dress with a pair of boardwalk-ready sandals. Palm Beach, here you come.

Now exercise your constitutional right to shop. Our Make It Your Own: Iconic First Lady Style Boutique opened Monday, February 16, at 11AM ET.
