There’s no better way to embrace your feminine side than to sport spring’s blooming prints. Here are three starlets that mastered florals this week.

Best Dressed

1. Delicate and dainty, Freida Pinto attended the screening for Desert Dancer in a lavender Elie Saab dress with floral appliqués.

2. Bella Thorne opted for a bright and playful Milly crop top, which she paired with a midi-length alice + olivia skirt and contrasting black pumps.

3. Kerry Washington mixed polka dots and florals in her Giambattista Valli dress at the Variety Studio: Actors on Actors event in Los Angeles. Sideswept hair, a berry lip, and red lace pumps completed her flirty look.

Remember J.Lo’s infamous Versace gown at the 42nd annual GRAMMY Awards in 2000? You know, the emerald-green number that plunged to her navel? Of course you do. Well, according to Google, that daring dress made history in more ways than one.

In a recent article, Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt wrote, “At the time, it was the most popular search query we had ever seen. But we had no surefire way of getting users exactly what they wanted: J.Lo wearing that dress.”

So next time you’re surfing Google for memes (read: procrastinating), take a moment to thank Jenny from the Block. Without her affinity for fashion risks, we might not have this technological luxury.

Fascinating things are happening at M·A·C. Literally. The brand just launched a beauty collaboration with none other than milliner Philip Treacy. You may know him as the man behind Kate Middleton’s fancy toppers. So when I say that campaign is eye-catching, it should come as no surprise.

It’s nearly impossible to pick just one influential cover girl, so Glamour chose three for its May 2015 issueMichelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kerry Washington. The trio came together to shine a light on the needs of current and former military women and families, a cause close to all of their hearts.

In 2011, upon hearing the struggles servicewomen had after returning home, the First Lady launched the Joining Forces initiative to provide employment resources, affordable education programs, and wellness access for active military, veterans, and their families. Its mission struck a chord with Kerry, whose father served in the military, as well as SJP, who has several friends in uniform.

To see these three women weigh in on these issues, pick up the full interview on stands April 14 (just time for Memorial Day).

From 20th-century work wear to standard-issue U.S. Navy shirting, chambray has taken quite a journey since its earliest appearances centuries ago in Cambrai, France. Now a closet staple for ladies and gents alike, the fabric boasts classically good looks – but it’s also a fresh canvas for trending details. Read on, then button up.

Chambray 101

What it is: Chambray is a lightweight woven fabric (generally cotton) comprised of colored thread and complemented by bleached horizontal yarns. Traditionally, it tends to be indigo or light blue in color.

What it isn’t: Though the hue may suggest otherwise, it’s not denim. So those of you who haven’t jumped on the all-jean bandwagon yet can layer your blues without hesitation. Wondering how to nail the look? Mix a dark-wash top with lighter bottoms (or vice versa).

Build your collection: Go beyond the classic-cut button-front shirt. Try a sheath dress for another wardrobe multitasker. While chambray is best known for blue, colors like red and grey put a spin on the tried-and-true fabric. To take it to the next level, just play with pattern (think white floral or tonal stripes).
