Stressed? It happens. But an hour spent zoning out in Downward Dog isn’t always doable. Next time you need a quick breather, try these easy calming tricks at home or on the go.

Relaxation Meditation CandleCandle Meditation
First, prepare a comfy meditation space. Light a candle and position it about 20 inches from eye level while maintaining a proper upright posture. Then, simply focus all your attention on the candle. This technique works particularly well for people who find it easier to concentrate on a physical thing rather than a mantra.

Aromatherapy LavenderAromatherapy
Lavender is known for its ability to release nervous tension and aid in sleep. Next time you’re feeling anxious, grab a bottle of this popular oil and rub a drop or two on the base of your neck and inner wrists. The relaxing scent will lower your pulse rate and help you naturally wind down.

Meditation AppsMeditation Apps
Whether your thing is listening to ocean waves or flowing through a guided meditation, there’s a (free) app for that. The best part? You can choose where and when to chill out. Try it on your lunch break during especially crazy workweeks. Your sanity will thank you.

Need an extra pick-me-up? Before you reach for that third cup of coffee, try a mantra first. We’ve gathered three of our favorites for you to keep on hand whenever you need a little boost.

I am in charge of how I feel and today I am choosing happinessYou have control over more than just your outfit. Remind yourself that you hold the key to your own happiness, because rumor has it, thinking it can manifest it.

start each day like it's your birthdayOkay, so streamers aren’t exactly necessary, but who doesn’t appreciate a little celebration everyday? (A piece of cake is just an added bonus.)

don't just be good to others be good to yourself tooSometimes in the hustle and bustle of it all we forget to treat ourselves right. While making others happy is important, remembering to take care of yourself is equally essential.

Face it, whether you’re in Warrior pose or brunching alfresco, you live in yoga clothing. But admittedly, sometimes that collection of tees and leggings doesn’t quite make the cut. Enter Crane & Lion, a new Boston-based activewear company that strives to fill that all-important space where “feel good” and “look good” meet.

Crane & Lion Yoga Activewear

Between the on-trend color palettes, flattering silhouettes, and hand-selected fabrics, we’re not sure what we’re more obsessed with. And the fact that there’s a charity connection has us revamping our stash of athleisure (for the uninitiated, that’s athletic + leisure style), guilt free. Each year, the brand contributes 5% of its revenue to three organizations that dedicate themselves to health, wellness, and the happiness of others: the one hundred by the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, Wide Horizons For Children, and Big Sister Association of Greater Boston.

With that knowledge in mind, we made a beeline toward Crane & Lion‘s most coveted piece – an impossibly chic and super-versatile wrap sweater. We mixed and matched with just about everything in our closet, and though there are a million and one ways to wear it, we have a couple favorites. Pair it with a pencil skirt and silk blouse for work or keep it casual with a fail-safe combo of a Crane & Lion racerback tank and any of their tights.

Invite this activewear into your wardrobe. Our Crane & Lion Boutique opened Monday, May 18, at 11AM ET.

We’ve always been proud to call Boston our home. So when April rolls around, there’s no place we’d rather be than the Marathon finish line. And for three Rue staffers, it’s actually about crossing the finish line. Hear why they’re lacing up for a cause.

“Having grown up in the Boston area, I always thought running the Boston Marathon would be a great accomplishment. Being able to run for Krystle Campbell, a friend I lost to the 2013 bombings, has given it so much more meaning.”
– Lauren Fitzgerald, Rue Model with Maggie Inc.

Reebok is tapping into the sweet nostalgia of the 90s. Today, the Boston-based brand will release their latest line of inflatable sneakers.

These new running kicks, dubbed the ZPump Fusion, borrow the air-bladder design of decades past. Meaning, they mold to the shape of your foot when inflated. Pretty cool, right? If history repeats itself, this one should be a slam dunk for Reebok.

Make some room on your bookshelf because Dr. Seuss is coming back. Random House announced that on July 28, it will release a recently discovered manuscript from the beloved author-illustrator.

The book, titled What Pet Should I Get?, will feature the same cast of characters from One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Plans to publish at least two more books are also in the works. And just like that, my inner kid is so ready for a playful beach read.

All the vegan ladies, put your hands up! Clean-eating advocate Beyoncé has partnered with her personal trainer, Marco Borges, to launch a vegan food delivery service.

Beyonce's Vegan Meal Delivery Service

What’s in it for us? Gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and 100% plant-based meals for 22 days. According to the program, it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. By the next day, we’re well on our way to making those changes second nature.

Three weeks without bread or Brie? Like Bey, we better wake up flawless once those deliveries end.
