Just Splashing Around

With our past record of Today’s fixes including knee-buckling handbags, envy-inducing shoes, and chef-worthy cookware – this today’s particular Fix proved to be a splash-making departure from the rest.

So on a 90-degree day, our photographers ventured off location and staked out a sunny spot in a Rue associates’ parents’ backyard and let the good times roll.

Making Their Wildest Dreams Come True

We’re taking a cue from our animal-loving kids and decorating their bedroom with everything safari. To kick it off, here are the five roaring must-haves to jump-start a jungle-themed room makeover.

1. Monkey Wall Decals
For a barrel of fun, peel and stick these repositionable monkeys-swinging-on-vines decals to walls and ceiling (as seen above).

2. Green Rug
The best way to replicate the lush and overgrown jungle floor? An oh-so-soft shag rug.

Be a Teacher’s Pet

For all that our kids’ teachers achieve during the year, they deserve to make honor roll. So today (and all week long), we’re celebrating National Teacher’s Appreciation Day by making these DIY strawberry gifts for our little ones’ educators. We consider them a sweet and artsy twist on the classic apple.

Download the template and have your little one fill in the blanks.

A Learning-Filled Summer? Yeah, We Said That.

School’s almost out for summer, but that doesn’t mean our kids’ learning has to fall to the wayside. We chatted up education expert Marcia Gresko, Educational Insights’s head of product development, for tips on helping our little ones bridge summer’s (fun-filled) gap between the old and new school year.

Bridge that Gap
Summer bridge is a term given to helping students make a successful transition from one school grade level to the next. It also refers to summer programs or activities that help kids retain the skills they learned during the school year.

Amp Up the Fun Factor
Give your up-and-coming film director a sturdy video camera; your aspiring architect some recycled boxes and tape; and your budding designer some paper, magazines, scissors, and glue. These activities hone kids’ skills from observation to problem solving. Plus, they’re great for their self-esteem, confidence, and creativity.

We are the Champions, My Friend

To us, spring signifies two things, a decorating overhaul and the resurgence of America’s favorite pastime. So we’re hitting this one out of the park and combining the two in a bedroom decorated with sporty lighting, bedding, and artwork – and tees to line the drawers of our athletic small fries.

Our Little Kingdom: The Sporty Kid’s Dream Room Boutique is now open.
