Escape: Capalbio, Italy on the Mediterranean sea is my absolute favorite summer getaway. It’s a little medieval hilltop town on the coast of Tuscany. I love the storybook atmosphere and having long leisurely lunches at the beach by day and star-gazing in the castle courtyard by night.
Must-Haves: I always bring sunscreen (I’m so happy they’ve started making SPF 100!), the perfect little white dress, and my iPad to keep me entertained with books and Scrabble.
Next Stop: I’m heading to Malaysia next month. I’ve always wanted to go. The beaches look unbelievably beautiful.

The resort shows are getting bigger than ever, running throughout the month of June both in New York and Europe and featuring a diverse arrange of emerging and established designers. Here is a selection of some of the upcoming season’s offerings.
Designer Stacey Bendet offered up subtlely hued day dresses, floral shorts, and pastel knickers at Alice + Olivia.
Newbie brand Nonoo (helmed by Misha Nonoo), put a fun and flirty spin on classic shorts, shifts, trousers, and jackets by way of cute palm tree graphics and sizzling pops of yellow.
Organic by John Patrick took the work of obscure art writer (and Art-Rite ‘zine founder) Edit DeAk as its muse, though the resulting slip dresses, leather skirts, padded jackets, and day-to-evening jumpsuit were as wearable (and sustainable) as ever.
Chanel‘s Karl Lagerfeld unveiled a twisted mash-up of hip-hop-meets-Louis-XIV styles at Versailles, packed with full-skirted dresses, lace-edged jackets, and ruffled shorts in sweet sherbet shades, all worn with flatform sneakers.
It was a color explosion over at Chris Benz, with an array of lavishly embellished dresses, sheer-slipped pencil skirts, contrast-pocket tees, and fruit-printed jackets, accessorized with bold plastic jewelry by The Woods – all designed to evoke a “tropical travel fantasy.”

Escape: My favorite vacation spot is Bahia, Brazil; it has beautiful beaches.
Must-Haves: I always bring my iPad, Dr. Jart Water Fuse SPF 25 Moisturizer and Fabien Baron sunglasses.

SINJE LESEMANN, TRAVEL BAG DESIGNER
Escape: Jamaica. The Carribean Sea is by far my favorite ocean and I love going with my best friends who have lots of family there. Chilling in the sun, drinking ice cold rum punch while listening to live reggae – that’s my idea of a fun vacation!
Must-Haves: Our KOZA Rajani Travel Tote is my favorite travel companion because it keeps all my things organized and is big enough to pack for a weekend getaway, along with a few pareos in amazing patterns and bright colors. I wear them as a shawl to get cozy on the plane and on beach vacations I practically live in them all day. I still prefer reading paper books and magazines but for practical reasons I love my iPad as it’s loaded with all my travel necessities: destination guides, journal, books, magazines, movies – and even my workout app in case I indulge too much.
Next Stop: I’m heading to Miami in July for Fashion Swim Week. It’s for work so not really a vacation but hey, while there I might as well enjoy it. Before that I will try to sneak in a relaxing weekend at Cowley Manor in the English countryside. It’s beautiful and pure bliss – great for a short getaway.

Escape: My favorite vacation/getaway is Miami at the Standard Hotel. It’s got a totally relaxed vibe, great healthy food (love their Splenditos!), and a fabulous spa. But the centerpiece is really the pool – framed by palm trees and a view of the water. The best part is that it’s just a few hours away from New York.
Must-Haves: Kiehl’s lip balm with SPF, lots of magazines and Havaiana flip flops.
Next Stop: Milan for work, but after that I will be spending the weekends on Fire Island – I’m really a beach bum at heart – and my house is literally seconds from the beach.

JEISA CHIMINAZZO, MODEL
Escape: The Maldives is the most beautiful place I’ve been so far, the water is so warm and transparent. I stayed at the One&Only there and the spa treatments and yoga were amazing – a truly relaxing experience.
Must-Haves: Sunglasses, all of my facial creams including sunscreen and, if I’m traveling to the beach, a beautiful kaftan and long dresses are the most comfortable things and look good, too!
Next Stop: I don’t have any new vacation trips planned just yet!

NORMA KAMALI, DESIGNER
Escape: I love the unexpected and I love adventure so I like to try new spots!
Must-Haves: I travel light – my All In One dress, olive oil, and my guy.
Next Stop: My next destination is still unknown – my friend is a famous astrologer and she claims you can enhance the year ahead by astrologically finding a place with the best aspects for you for the year ahead. It is different all the time but not required every year. My birthday is later this month so I will find out [where I'm going] soon!

LUCY SYKES RELLIE, FASHION EDITOR/STYLIST
Escape: I love Harbour Island. It’s easy and beautiful – the only beach that really has pink sand, the sea is lovely and warm, and walking down the huge beach you see almost no one. The Landing is a fab restaurant there owned by local resident and island queen, India Hicks.
Must-Haves: For me it’s all about skin and beauty, so I always pack Tracie Martyn Resculpting Body Cream, Clark’s Botanicals Ultra Rich Lip Tint in Moore Nude and Bigelow Lavender Essential Oil.
Next Stop: GoldenEye, Jamaica. Chris Blackwell is putting on a party for my friend Trish Wescoat-Pound’s Haute Hippie line. I cannot wait!

When she’s not traveling – the Port Eliot Festival in Cornwall, England is the designer’s favorite summer getaway, and she never leaves home without a good book and pieces from her new Tumi luggage collaboration – Anna Sui likes to kick back at home in New York on the weekends, trawling her favorite flea markets and hanging out with friends.
I usually wake up around 8AM in my Greenwich Village apartment. On the weekends, I like to treat myself to a pretzel croissant from City Bakery or an egg and cheese croissant breakfast sandwich from Grey Dog on University Place. I like to go to the Union Square Farmer’s Market and buy flowers for the week. On a casual summer day, I like to wear cotton Marimekko shift dresses. I collect them – they’re so easy and comfortable.
Dinner with friends is always fun. Current favorite restaurants include: Peels, ABC Kitchen, The Dutch, The Fat Radish, Crown, and I Sodi. I totally love dressing up for dinner; I like to make an effort.
On Sunday, I usually go to the Flea Market in the morning. It’s like going to church for me and my friends. In particular, I always stop in to see Shirley Mariaschin’s booth, “Jewelry Just For You” at the Antiques Showplace on 25th Street. Shirley is who I go to for vintage jewelry. I collect ethnic Berber necklaces, Victorian jet, Arts-and-Crafts peacock-eye earrings, and Egyptian-revival pieces from the 1920s. Sunday is also a good day to shop and see what’s new in the stores.
In the evening I see a movie or have dinner again with friends. Sometimes it’s fun to have a few friends over and order take-out (I serve everything on pretty serving bowls and dishes). We love the delicious Vietnamese sandwiches from a tiny shop around the corner from my apartment (Num Pang on 12th Street). For desert, everyone adores the light-as-air Mille Crêpe Cake from Lady M.

GRETCHEN JONES, DESIGNER
Escape: I truly loved my time in Colombia. South America is so rich in history, culture and landscape, yet there’s a thread that ties each of the countries together, which I find very special. And a girl like me can’t get enough of the artisan crafts from the indigenous peoples. It’s so inspiring and vivid. Don’t even get me started on the variance of landscape!
Must-Haves: I tend to get too hot or too cold in a matter of moments, so layering is a must. My trusty vintage jean jacket goes with anything, be it a bikini or fancy dress (a la, effortless cool). A yummy scarf can be used for so many reasons it’s a major must regardless of the time of year. Good, functional, and flirty clogs are my go-to shoe these days, they bring out my bohemian hippie chick, go with everything, and keep my tootsies primed for sight seeing.
Next Stop: I’m off to Sonoma Valley in California for a week in the Redwoods with wine! What’s not to love about that?
