The fact that our Members’ moms have style is practically a given. So, in honor of Mother’s Day, we gave you a chance to prove it and be featured on our login page – and we received an outpouring of photos and aphorisms on our Facebook and Twitter. With them, we compiled (drumroll, please)… today’s login. We couldn’t include every picture in the interest of space, but some of the others will get their due fame on our Twitter feed. Happy Mother’s Day! #MomStyle

For today’s Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Boutique, our Home Team took off to Greensboro, North Carolina, for a three-day photo shoot. There, they created five different worlds – one for each buttery leather chair to live in. Luckily, we were able to snap a few behind-the-scenes shots and see how each setting came to life.

Our Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Boutique opens Tuesday, April 30, at 11AM ET.

Here at Rue, we pride ourselves on our creativity – and that doesn’t end at our love for great writing, design, and killer fashion. Take, for instance, the newest addition to the after-hours lineup: the How-To Half Hour, designed to help each of us embrace our inner crafty kid.
Yesterday, we tried out this week’s Rue How-To and upcycled old T-shirts into Nantucket-inspired bracelets. How’s that for Earth Day spirit?

College basketball season may be over, but since we’re fairly certain Louisville is still celebrating their triumph, we figured we’d share a sports-related victory of our own. It all started with a simple Rue college basketball bracket pool. Ten bucks to enter (optional, of course), and the Associate with the winning bracket could donate it all to the charity of their choice – with a 100% match from Rue La La.

The result? Out of nearly 200 brackets and countless charities, Assistant Buyer Michelle F. won it all for Autism Speaks, a leading organization dedicated to funding the research for treatment, prevention, and awareness of autism. In her own words:
“I chose Autism Speaks because of the work they do for the autistic community and the families that need support. My parents go to the autistic gala every year and cannot speak more fondly of the positive and heartwarming work that raising money for the foundation does as well as how many families it affects. I also have to say that I received some really positive emails from my Rue La La coworkers, many that said how much they appreciated the donation because they have a cousin/sibling/child that has autism. With so many great charities to pick from I felt like these emails supported my choice.”

Check out our Creative Team's experiment in recycling
The Clothing Swap: It’s a fad that’s suddenly popping up everywhere. Friends gather, each bringing clothes to trade, and everyone walks away with something new – even if it is a little pre-loved.
Since we’re always looking for ways to pump up our wardrobes here at Rue La La, we decided to give it a try. (But we didn’t limit it to clothes – since we welcomed additional odds and ends, we called ours the “Stuff Swap.”)

While not as mobbed as our infamous sample sales, the Stuff Swap proved to be a success. The majority of the goods were clothing and accessories, but there were some hidden little gems, too. Where else can you find a The Muppet Show DVD set, kitchen canisters, and leopard print thank-you cards in the same place?
And the best part? In the end, everything that wasn’t nabbed by a Rue employee was packed up to be donated to Goodwill. Scoring new clothes and benefiting charity – what’s not to love?
