Sure, a bit of scruff may be the look du jour, but a smooth shave will never go out of style. While there are pitfalls to picking up the razor daily (think ingrown hairs and irritation), a well-equipped grooming arsenal will keep the nicks at bay and leave heads turning. Here we outline which essentials belong in your medicine cabinet, and of course, how to properly use them.

The latest ad for Miss Dior fragrance is here – and it is stunning. Natalie Portman, the longtime face of this chic scent, stars as a runaway bride out for a little fun on the French Riviera.

The short film bounces between black-and-white shots of Natalie as a dutiful bride-to-be and colorful scenes of her romp toward free-spirited adventure. At one point, a bellhop drops off a bouquet and says, “Your flowers, madame.” To which the actress replies,”It’s Miss, actually.”

Oh, and the fashion? It’s perfection. From a handcrafted white gown with floral embellishments to a daring LBD, the film’s looks are truly iconic. Bravo, Dior.

For cosmetic brushes: The key to clean makeup bristles may be lurking by your kitchen sink. Dawn dish soap is an unexpected way to degrease your brush collection. Squeeze a bit of it onto a small plate, then tap in your wet brush to dilute the suds, swirl in your palm to build a lather, and rinse.

For bangs-induced breakouts: If you’re rocking a fringe haircut, you might also be familiar with forehead blemishes. Avoid touching your bangs (a common way to transfer dirt and bacteria) and switch to oil-free hair products for clearer skin.

For whiter teeth: Another DIY remedy lurking in your kitchen? Baking soda. Wet your toothbrush, coat it with the powder, and brush your teeth for two minutes. With occasional use, you’ll benefit from a bright, polished smile.

For dried-out eyeliner: Felt- and brush-tipped liquid liners can dry out quickly, but you can keep the ink flowing with a few easy tricks. Make sure to give a good shake before use, and always store tip-down at room temperature.

For chapped hands: One of the biggest polar vortex pitfalls? Cracked knuckles and peeling cuticles. A balm is the best remedy, so carry one in your bag and apply often. To avoid getting grease marks on your to-do list or clothing, spot treat only the problematic areas.

For your under-eye: You know it well – the dreaded early-afternoon concealer crease. To prevent it, tap face oil along your under-eye before patting on concealer. If you notice any crevices later in the day, reapply one drop of oil rather than more makeup.

For deodorant marks: You slip into that LBD and alas – there are white streaks all over it. Grab a hanger from the dry cleaners and rub the spot gently using its foam cover.

For cleaning denim: If you’re in the less-is-more camp when it comes to washing jeans, try steaming your skinnies and spritzing a fabric-refreshing spray to fight odor-causing bacteria.

For suede care: Before putting your suede shoes away after wear, use a horsehair brush to dust off accumulated dirt. Proactive cleaning will prevent trips to the cobbler later.

For your eyes: Highlighting your bottom lash line is oh-so-hot right now. Dip a slant-tipped brush in water, then dab it in an eyeshadow hue that’s slightly lighter than your top liner. Apply for a soft, diffused look.

For removing stray nail polish: Simplify your next at-home mani and battle the mess before it begins. Using a Q-tip soaked in baby oil, trace the outline of each nail prior to painting. Any stray polish will rub right off when you’re done.

For minimizing hair static: Ease static (that pesky winter hair woe) with natural bristles and metal combs instead of plastic ones, and don’t underestimate the power of a cream-based styling product.

This Black Friday, Tom Ford gave us all a reason to pucker up. Why, exactly? Well, the iconic American designer launched his Lips & Boys collection, an assortment of 50 lipstick hues, each named after a man who has influenced Tom’s life.

From actors like Colin to Tom’s son Alexander, the shades’ namesakes are as varied as their colors, which range from nudes, pinks, and corals to silvers, plums, and browns.

Here’s the catch: the collection is only available at select online retailers through tonight, December 1. But fear not, last-minute shoppers. Lips & Boys officially launches in stores on December 26, so if these pinkie-sized tubes don’t make it into your stocking, they’ll still fit perfectly into your New Year’s Eve clutch.

If you thought the debut nail polish from Christian Louboutin was pricey at $50 per bottle, think again. Now, he’s upping his beauty game tenfold with the premiere of Starlight, a limited edition holiday launch that retails for a cool $675.

The bottle holds the label’s signature red shade, Rouge Louboutin – but it’s the 1,500 hand-applied, two-toned Strass crystals that tip the price well over the $600 mark. And the box it comes in? Black lacquer decorated with leather and crystal flowers like the ones on the brand’s Pensamoi shoe.

Although I’d prefer a pair of red-soled shoes for the same price, I wouldn’t complain if this blinged-out nail polish turned up in my stocking.
