It’s a fact: We love funny animal videos. Not only are they adorable (and make us want to run out and buy the first cuddly critter we see), they’re also educational. For example, we knew that otters are insanely cute and ate shellfish, but we didn’t know they can sort of talk.

Obviously, we are big fans of everything that Chanel does. And this video is no exception – especially with its Vogue-like styling and Rocky Horrorvibe. But it’s also drumming up a bit of controversy. Around the 0:56 mark, some people are claiming that the voice-over says, “Men hate women who read.”
Our take? She’s reciting the famous Coco Chanel quote, “If you’re sad or heartbroken, make yourself up, dress up, add more lipstick, and attack. Men hate women who weep,” with an insanely chic French accent.

Cue the calls of “Bon appétit!” Yesterday would have been Julia Child’s 100th birthday. In celebration of everyone’s favorite beef bourguignon master, PBS released this amazing “Julia Child Remixed” video. Watch it – and get ready to tap that foot.
Even after all these years, her recipes – and big personality – live on. This recent New York Times article gets it right:
It was Child – not single-handedly, but close – who started the public conversation about cooking in America that has shaped our cuisine and culture ever since. Her Mastering the Art of French Cooking was published in 1961, just as trends including feminism, food technology, and fast food seemed ready to wipe out home cooking. But with her energy, intelligence, and nearly deranged enthusiasm, Child turned that tide.
