LOL: Top Digital Pranks for April Fools’ Day 2014

From search engines to fashion labels, some of today’s top companies celebrated April Fools’ Day by – what else? – posting a few online pranks. Below, a roundup of the gags that got us good.

1. lululemon’s Spray-On Yoga Pants
It appears lululemon has gone even sheerer. Inspired by a Jimmy Kimmel spoof commercial, the brand launched its first-ever spray-on yoga pant for April Fools’ Day.

2. Kayak.com Compares Hundreds of Bathrooms
Known for comparing travel packages, kayak.com created a limited-time tab on its site encouraging shoppers to “Find a place to go. Right now.” Users were even given the option to refine their search based on cleanliness. “Disgusting” earned a recurring reservation at a facility in NYC, while “impeccable” booked an extended stay at the Taj Mahal of toilets.

3. Bonobos’s Techstyle
This April Fools’ Day, Bonobos took wearable technology to a whole new level with “Wifiber,” a smart fabric that can do everything from read your body temperature to post your innermost feelings on an ex’s Facebook wall (whoops).

Better on Paper: Meet the Crafty Four-Year-Old Recreating Red-Carpet Dresses

Confession: I follow a ton of Instafamous pseudo-celebrities. And the latest addition to my feed is my guiltiest pleasure yet. Meet four-year-old “Mayhem” and her mother, Angie, who spend their time recreating the year’s most memorable dresses… out of paper.

Instafamous Red-Carpet Looks

From Lupita Nyong’o's Ralph Lauren cape dress to Jennifer Lawrence’s strapless Dior number, each pint-sized rendition has earned almost as many double-taps as its original. And the best part? Little Mayhem makes some of these amazing pieces herself. “The ideas are pretty much a 50/50 split,” Angie told the Huffington Post, “but Mayhem constructs a lot more than most people would probably believe.”

I imagine by the time Suri Cruise is nominated for her first Academy Award, she’ll be wearing Mayhem. Until then, join in on my guilty pleasure and preview her first “collection” here.

Going, Going, Gone Viral: Beyoncé’s Hair Disaster

Confession: we’re a little Beyoncé-obsessed – but then again, who isn’t? After watching this video of her wind machine turning against her, our love for the queen diva only grew. What a true professional.

Going, Going, Gone Viral: Karl Lagerfeld on Being Invisible

There seems to be no end to the list of unbelievable things Karl Lagerfeld will say, and this interview with Harper’s Bazaar‘s Laura Brown proves no exception. As to what he’d do if he were invisible? We won’t ruin the surprise, but here’s hoping the cops don’t catch him doing it.

Going, Going, Gone Viral: Harlem Shake on the Runway

Everyone is getting on the Harlem Shake bandwagon – but we certainly didn’t expect model Cara Delevingne to bust a move backstage at London Fashion Week. While her version is definitely noteworthy, we still can’t get our minds off the UGA Swim & Dive team’s underwater version

Going, Going, Gone Viral: Marc Jacobs Loves Diet Coke

As the new Creative Director for Diet Coke, Marc Jacobs has been tasked with celebrating the company’s 30th birthday in Europe. And based on this video, “celebrating” means Marc stripping down in a photo booth (don’t worry, it’s still SFW). For a man who’s almost 50, we say: if you’ve got it, flaunt it.

Going, Going, Gone Viral: Working at Alexander Wang

We’ve got to hand it to Alexander Wang – the man has a great sense of humor. In this 3-minute gem of a video, 90s comedy legend Bon Qui Qui returns (hello, flashback!) to start a job at Alexander Wang’s flagship store. Did we mention there’s a cameo by Simon Doonan?

Commence playback.

Going, Going, Gone Viral: A Little Holiday Cheer

Break out those Playskool xylophones – based on Jimmy Fallon and Mariah Carey’s rendition of “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” elementary school music toys are the only things you need to create some holiday magic. Okay, and maybe a pop star with a fabulous voice…

Going, Going, Gone Viral: Ellen DeGeneres’s Halloween Costume

This is a four-minute gem that we guarantee will make your Thursday infinitely better. For Halloween this year, Ellen DeGeneres dressed up as an (almost) exact version of Sofia Vergara. And we’ve been giggling hysterically at our desks since we first pressed play.

Going, Going, Gone Viral: What Kids Think About the Election

With all the buzz surrounding last night’s debate, everyone’s mind has been on the election. But what about the kids? Parenting magazine took to the streets (in the form of a Brooklyn block party) to find out – and we can’t stop laughing over the results.
