Summer is fast approaching, and with it comes a few things: sun, sand, and (of course) swimwear. If a string bikini has long been a staple for your warmest days, allow us to shine some light on a few bright new options before you hit the beach.
The 3 Hottest Swimsuits for Summer 2015
Anything Ruffled
Add flirty, feminine touches to your beachwear with sweet waves of fabric. Best for accentuating curves on your top or bottom, these designs give shape, movement, and a touch of whimsy to time spent in the sand.

The 3 Hottest Swimsuits for Summer 2015The One-Piece
Don’t give us that look – this is not your mother’s swimsuit. With plunging necklines, cut-outs, and very high hemlines, this traditional style is making a big comeback with majorly modern updates. For gals who’d like a little coverage from the blazing sun while still looking red-hot, this is your new go-to.

High-Waisted Bikini
Throwing it back to the era of high glamour and feminine silhouettes, this trending shape is a favorite again in the here and now. Coming in especially handy for those of us who’ve had a second helping at the summer BBQ, these suits are forgiving and oh-so-flattering.

Want to keep your PANDORA pieces looking brand new? We have a few expert care tips to help get you close. So grab your charms and get ready to watch them shine.

How to Care for PANDORA Charms

Charm Cleaning 101
First, grab a dish of lukewarm water and add a small amount of baby shampoo. Then dip a soft toothbrush into the solution and scrub each charm in circular motions to nix any dirt. For those times when your piece needs a heavy-duty cleaning, soak it in clean water first.

Pack It In
Keeping your PANDORA in tip-top shape starts with how you store it. A velvet or felt-lined box is best for every-day organization, but a budget-friendly plastic ziplock bag (made of Mylar or polyethylene only, no polyvinyl allowed) will also do the trick. Travel often? Grab a jewelry roll to keep your pieces shiny and mark-free. Just remember, no rubber containers – they’ll tarnish silver quickly – and keep your accessories out of the bathroom.

That Extra TLC
We all know that over time our gold and silver essentials look a bit worn. PANDORA (and Rue) recommends having them inspected at least once a year by a goldsmith. They can double-check clasps, mounts, and soldering, as well as any deep cosmetic wear.

Moral of the story: a little love now can make your jewelry last long enough to be passed down. Now you just have to worry about playing favorites with the lucky recipients of these coveted pieces. Want to find your next heirloom? Shop our PANDORA Boutique, now open.

When it comes to redefining the face of his brand, there’s no stopping Marc Jacobs. Last season he handpicked a pack of unknowns, the year before he called upon Miley Cyrus. But this time around, even we were surprised by his selection. Marc announced today via Instagram that Cher (yes, that Cher) will be the face of his Fall/Winter 2015 campaign.

Of course there’s no denying the recent uptick in icon casting by fashion labels (Joan Didion for CÉLINE, Madonna for Versace, etc.), but this match-up takes the cake. Not only does it showcase an iconic new line, but also taps into one of the Marc’s earliest inspirations.“Other boys were out fascinated by other things. I was like, ‘No, I’d really much rather see what Cher’s wearing this week,” he says.

Cher may croon about turning back time, but if this ad is any indication, we don’t think she needs to.

Hollywood’s finest spent the past couple weeks in the South of France for the Cannes Film Festival. And in between film screenings and soaking up sun, starlets predictably wowed on the red carpets. Here are the five stunners that caught my attention.

Cate Blanchett made a striking entrance in an over-the-top ruffled Giles Deacon ball gown. With a print inspired by a fax machine, the dress boasted a voluminous skirt and layers of ruffles, taking five days and 15 meters of silk to construct.

The Cannes Film Festival is synonymous with more than just movies. Walked by world-famous stars, the gala’s red carpet has long been an opportunity for designers to feature the latest trends. But now, the shoe may be on the other foot. Variety reports that of all things, Cannes has placed a ban on women’s flats.

Cannes Film Festival Bans Flats

Black tie is the standard at the industry’s brightest night, yet stiletto-specific guidelines have never been spelled out. And at the premiere of Cate Blanchett’s film Carol, several women were shooed away due to their lack of heel. We say, “What gives?” With men arriving in scuffed-up oxfords (ahem, Ryan Gosling), or with unkempt facial hair, women are raising their eyebrows in turn.

The Festival has denied the claims, though with rumors surfacing daily, it seems that high heels may be an expected formality.

If you’re anything like us, you love options when it comes to style. Whether it’s Christian Dior or Converse, we’re never in favor of denying women a good shoe.

Face it, whether you’re in Warrior pose or brunching alfresco, you live in yoga clothing. But admittedly, sometimes that collection of tees and leggings doesn’t quite make the cut. Enter Crane & Lion, a new Boston-based activewear company that strives to fill that all-important space where “feel good” and “look good” meet.

Crane & Lion Yoga Activewear

Between the on-trend color palettes, flattering silhouettes, and hand-selected fabrics, we’re not sure what we’re more obsessed with. And the fact that there’s a charity connection has us revamping our stash of athleisure (for the uninitiated, that’s athletic + leisure style), guilt free. Each year, the brand contributes 5% of its revenue to three organizations that dedicate themselves to health, wellness, and the happiness of others: the one hundred by the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, Wide Horizons For Children, and Big Sister Association of Greater Boston.

With that knowledge in mind, we made a beeline toward Crane & Lion‘s most coveted piece – an impossibly chic and super-versatile wrap sweater. We mixed and matched with just about everything in our closet, and though there are a million and one ways to wear it, we have a couple favorites. Pair it with a pencil skirt and silk blouse for work or keep it casual with a fail-safe combo of a Crane & Lion racerback tank and any of their tights.

Invite this activewear into your wardrobe. Our Crane & Lion Boutique opened Monday, May 18, at 11AM ET.

They were worn only once, but these gowns will forever go down in fashion history. Let’s take a trip down red-carpet lane, shall we?
Most Iconic Red Carpet Looks
The 2006 Academy Awards made Michelle Williams a household name. With perfectly undone hair and a standout saffron ensemble, no one could ignore the young actress. And now, no Best-Dressed Oscars List is complete without her.

Sure, we love a good solid, but what’s a closet without a print or two? We sat down with Rue Stylist Caroline M. to get the inside scoop on which prints we should be stocking up on – and how to style them.

Got a few (million) necklaces lying around? Put a fresh spin on your neckwear by layering a couple. To get you started, Rue Stylist Emma L. is dishing on her favorite insider tips.
Necklace Length Guide

When it comes to layering, Emma says, “It’s always best to go with no more than four lengths, and they should graduate from shortest to longest.” And don’t be afraid to mix metals or styles. Emma advocates pairing your silver and gold pieces (it’s not a no-no anymore), as well as combining chunky jewelry with delicate.

If you’re a one-necklace type of girl, then it’s all about wearing it with the right neckline. Emma explains, “I personally like a longer necklace with a higher-cut top – for instance, a crewneck or boat neck with at least an 18-inch chain.” Prefer something a little less buttoned-up? “More open options, like V-necks, can work with any necklace length,” says Emma.

Now head to your jewelry box and layer with abandon.

If you’re anything like us, your legs are a little less than summer ready. (Self-tanner, anyone?) So before you boldly bust out those cutoffs and miniskirts, remember there’s another option: cuffed jeans. Here are three ways to get it done.

1. The Thick Cuff

Thick-Cuffed JeansSlouchy denim (AKA your fave boyfriend jeans) requires a roll that will stay put – cue the thick cuff. Fold twice to between 2 and 3 inches thick, then pair this casual look with a graphic tee and punchy heels for a relaxed summer feel.
