Go beyond head-to-toe white and try bold colorblocking. Whether on a pair of oversized sunnies, a fit-and-flare dress, or a perforated bag, this combination is the perfect way to blend athletic with ladylike. The final step? Slip on a pair of ankle-strap sandals and strut.

When it comes to celebrity style, you’ll have to determine “Who wore it best?” on your own for the next few months.

Since the passing of host Joan Rivers last September, Fashion Police returned in January with the additions of Brad Goreski and Kathy Griffin. The new cast had a shaky start, with growing controversies as the season – and the awards shows – went on. Kelly Osbourne announced her resignation last month, with Kathy Griffin stepping down shortly thereafter, both citing creative differences. And yesterday, E! announced that the show is going on hiatus until September.

So set your TiVos for fall – and place your bets for who will step in to host.

Flower-child ensembles are in full bloom this spring. Which means? Retro-print dresses (as seen on the Emilio Pucci runway) are seriously begging for groovy accessories. To nail the look, just let loose and read on.

70s-Inspired Style

Now when we say 70s, peasant blouses and flares are likely top of mind. But to really make a statement this season, go for eclectic prints and accessorize them with abandon. Drape globally inspired jewelry, pull out the wood-heeled platforms, and find your fringe. Just be sure to keep those extras in the same neutral color family and you’ll be good to go boho.

Rihanna is at it again, and this time, she’s making history. The singer will star as the next face of Christian Dior, making her the first black woman to front the almost 70-year-old house.

Prepare to see Rihanna in the latest “Secret Garden” campaign, shot by Steven Klein at Versailles. Of her enviable new role, the musician said, “It is such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any color.” We’ll cheers to that, RiRi.

Your secret style weapon for spring? Anything military-inspired. Utilitarian touches (think cargo pockets and olive green) were spotted on runways from Marc Jacobs to Salvatore Ferragamo. Read on to find out what’s so different about this take on the time-tested trend.

Military Trend

Unlike the rigid, uniform-like looks of years past, both structured and relaxed silhouettes are fair game this season. Start with a sharper shape on bottom, like a pencil skirt or tailored trousers. Then, layer on a looser-fitting jacket or button-front top to balance it out. The finishing touch? Minimalist accessories with sleek lines and gold-toned details that tie the outfit together.

1. All Valentino? Yes, please. Kate Mara nailed a playfully mismatched look from the label at its Fall 2015 runway show in Paris.

2. There’s a lot to love about Camilla Belle’s look at the Moët & Chandon celebration for Roger Federer, from the colorful prints on her Preen kimono-inspired wrap dress to her strappy Brian Atwood sandals.

3. Head-to-toe peach has never looked so polished. Jessica Alba paired voluminous silhouettes from Narciso Rodriguez for an appearance at Morgan Stanley’s Executive Women’s Conference to speak about her company, Honest.

A whole month of runway shows in four different cities is coming to a close, wrapping up the debuts of the Fall 2015 collections. And while we saw all kinds of out-there looks — lacy masks at Comme des Garçons, face-painted men in skirts at Vivienne Westwood, and chain-mail dresses at Alexander Wang — there were also totally approachable trends that surfaced show after show. Here are the top five we can’t wait to wear come fall.

Go ahead – look twice. Taiwan-based accessory brand JumpFromPaper is poised for street-style fame with its cartoonish 2D bags. Staring at these playful pieces for too long might make your brain hurt, but it’s worth it.

The collection features a range of backpacks, crossbodies, and handbags with bright blue, yellow, and red accents. In sporty styles and bold hues, the bags look pretty unreal.

Now this is an optical illusion we can get behind. And the onlookers these quirky pieces guarantee is incentive enough to buy one.
