I’ve never been much into sweets, but I love a good Irish coffee. So when my friend from Ireland shared this real-deal recipe, I thought I’d try my luck. The verdict? Easy to make – and even easier to drink. Better yet, the concoction was complete in less than 30 seconds.

December doesn’t just bring eggnog and gift giving – it’s also a time to look back on the past year. Sure, all these top-10 lists can be a little much, but here’s a compilation that even the Grinch could get behind: the best songs of the last 12 months.

NPR just released “Songs We Love 2014,” an eclectic mix of pop, reggae, jazz, and more, all on an interactive website. Time to plug in and shoulder dance your way through Friday.

Yes, you heard right. Pantone announced yesterday that its 2015 Color of the Year is Marsala, which it describes as “a naturally robust and earthy wine red.”

Although not quite as bright and pretty as this year’s Radiant Orchid, Marsala’s rusty undertones will be easy to integrate into everything from our wardrobes to our décor. And as a matter of fact, it’s already been spotted on the spring 2015 runways.

I know what you’re thinking. The name alone doesn’t sound so appealing (chicken marsala, anyone?). But after seeing Dries Van Noten and Louis Vuitton incorporate it into their spring collections, I must say, I’m eager to give it a try.

We all know the story of Cinderella. But now, the beloved narrative is getting an update with a fairytale cast, including Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham-Carter, and Downton Abbey actress Lily James as the leading lady.

What can we expect from this Kenneth Branagh–directed film? “I believe that there are expectations of a Disney Cinderella,” Kenneth says. “So, of course, we give people a pumpkin. Of course, we give them a carriage….Everything that you might expect is there.” Except this time, Cinderella doesn’t play victim. He adds, “She’s her own gal and she’s good company. She redefines goodness, I think, in the performance and she makes it sexy, and cool, and playful.”

Pumpkin carriages aside, the part I’m the most excited about? The glass slippers (obviously).
