Veronica, our Digital PR Manager, has the quirky-preppy mix down pat, so we couldn’t resist asking what tops her gift list this year.
1. For my boyfriend: He’s graduating from law school in May and is in desperate need of a polished wool coat to wear over his suits.
2. For my best friend: She’s a southern girl who just moved to Brooklyn and is not looking forward to winter. A sparkly beret might just change her mind.
3. For my mom: She lives in Maine and would love this cozy cashmere wrap on cold winter days.
Here at the Rue headquarters, we’ve been seeing quite the pattern lately – red plaid to be exact. Whether layered on a cardi or topped with a leopard print belt, Rue Associates show us that the secret to dressing up these low-key classics are a few stylish extras.
We love ourselves some good wristwear. And when it comes to timepieces, there’s just something so special about Cartier. Here, we asked a few (very lucky) Rue colleagues about how they came to tell time with the French luxury watchmaker.
Jen F., Director of Creative Services
“I received mine as a Mother’s Day and wedding anniversary gift combo three years ago from my husband. It was my first official Mother’s Day – he said he wanted to get me something special and I didn’t hesitate to mention a Cartier two-tone Tank watch.”
Sally M., Little Rue Brand Management Director
“When one of my friends treated herself to the Panther, I decided that when I got the significant promotion I was hoping for, I would honor the achievement with the same watch – and I did. My daughter (12) knows that at a significant event in her life, she’ll get it as a gift.”

It’s no surprise: we’re obsessed with shopping. So we’re asking Rue Associates to show off their most recent scores (from Rue and beyond!). Here, Kate shows us her newest duds. Her goal: gauzy and polka dotted. Mission accomplished.
Goofing off on set: models Thomas and Cameron in between shots for our Marmot Boutique.
We sat down with Rue Stylist Maureen and asked her about styling for Little Rue.
On the challenges:
“Kids are kids, so that in itself is a challenge. If a three-year-old doesn’t want to model anymore – they aren’t model anymore. The best thing to do is let a kid be a kid.”
On the laughs:
“After jumping around and acting silly trying to get a kid to smile, he asked ‘Are you a kid or a grown-up?’ He was genuinely confused. Was I was a giant kid or a weird adult?”
On the best part:
“I love styling kids because they bring such a sincerity to the set and bursts of energy.”

We love those surprisingly sun-soaked days of fall. This week, Rue Model Tehillah whipped out her summer favorites one last time.
Last weekend Amy, our Concierge and Social Correspondent hit the orchard for an afternoon of apple picking and New England fall scenery.
Her après picking spread:
The orchard’s own wine, Maiden’s Blush (made from pears and apples with a hint of elderberries)
Savory cheeses: smoked gouda, apricot ginger goat cheese, and apple smoked gruyère
Pinot Grigio sausage
The freshest of apples (of course)
To make it feel even more special when you’re trying it out on your own, pack along your favorite picnic blanket and don’t forget the corkscrew.
