Black and white ensembles were a red-carpet go-to at the 2015 People’s Choice Awards last night in Los Angeles. The trendy-yet-timeless look was spotted on spring runways from Oscar de la Renta to Altuzarra, proving its status as a wardrobe all-star. While you can always add a punch of color with a bright bag or shoe, these three starlets stuck to the basics for accessories.
Black and White at People's Choice Awards
  1. Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting showed off her figure in a monochrome outfit, coupled with another trend: midriff cutouts.
  2. Olivia Munn shimmered in a demure, horizontally striped, midi-length sheath dress from Giambattista Valli.
  3. Katharine McPhee wowed in a very of-the-moment Balmain dress, featuring both peekaboo detailing and stripes.

Yes, 2015 has just begun. But we’re already crowning this year’s best Instagram account. Meet @fashiondads_, a hilarious Instagram dedicated to ordinary dads’ fashion choices.

Rocking “swishy pants” or six-year-old Velcro sneakers, the meme-worthy men dish out style tips like: Footwear. Is. Everything. I love these #vintage white leather Velcro sneakers with a navy accent on the tongue. They look fab with my #Arizona relaxed fit jeans and are #fashionable and #functional.

Guess I better start looking to my dad for fashion advice. Come to think of it, he is a pro at normcore.

The time has come to say goodbye to C. Wonder‘s peppy, prep-centric line of apparel, accessories, and gifts. Yesterday, the brand confirmed it will close all its store locations, followed by the shuttering of its website in coming weeks.

C. Wonder hit several milestones since its 2011 launch in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City, including winning an Accessories Council ACE Award for Best Specialty Retailer. Founded by Christopher Burch (also an adviser to jewelry brand BaubleBar), the colorful company found a niche in whimsical accessories and gift-worthy goods.

Until we pinpoint our next spot for a monogram fix, we’ll be missing C. Wonder’s cheeky graphics and hue-happy designs.

What do Chiara FerragniZanita Whittington, and Nicole Warne have in common? Other than being wildly popular fashion bloggers, the three are the first in their field to land the cover of a major U.S. fashion magazine (Lucky’s February 2015 issue, to be exact).

Quite a lot has changed since Chiara, Zanita, and Nicole first stepped onto the fashion-blogging scene several years ago. What began as side projects turned into full-fledged businesses with the same perks that fashion’s finest editors received only after years in the industry.

“We don’t just blog – we do so many different things,” Chiara told LuckyAnd that they do. Nicole has modeled for Lancôme. Zanita has starred in a Louis Vuitton campaign. And Chiara has written a book and created an eponymous shoe line. It’s safe to say blogging is just the beginning for them.

As for all those naysayers who think the blogging game is on its way out? These ladies clearly prove otherwise.

Change is in the air for New York Fashion Week. Yesterday WWD reported that come September, runways will swap Lincoln Center for yet-to-be-named downtown digs. According to the event’s organizers, it’s too early to disclose the new destination. However, site theories abound. Could several venues host the seasonal show? And what about Culture Shed, which is still being built?

The world-famous event has also dropped Mercedes-Benz from its title. From now on, it will simply be called New York Fashion Week (which is what we’ve all been calling it anyway). So in February, say your final goodbyes to Lincoln Center and keep your eyes peeled for NYFW’s next home-sweet-home.

The best part about committing to get fit? Grabbing new gym gear, of course. And Stella McCartney has teamed up again with adidas on a line of activewear, StellaSport, that will have you racing to hit the treadmill.

StellaSport boasts bright colors and bold patterns that blur the line between studio and street (giving us a little less to load into our gym bag). And with a January 15 launch, the collection arrives in time to start 2015 on the right foot.

If you’re also set on saving more green this year, the styles are all within the $20 – $100 range. A wear-everywhere wardrobe that won’t break the bank? Prepare to nail more than one feel-good resolution.

Over the past year, it was hard to ignore Taylor Swift’s music accolades (2014’s top-selling album and Billboard’s Woman of the Year Award among them), or her ever-evolving, enviable style. Needless to say, we’re looking to the pop star for a little cold-weather outfit inspiration as we kick off 2015.

Best Dressed Taylor Swift

  1. The secret to looking edgy and chic? A J Brand leather jacket, black leggings, and lace-up rag & bone boots.
  2. Perfecting the high-low mix, Taylor stepped out in Manhattan in a plaid Finders Keepers coat, ALDO handbag, and rag & bone boots.
  3. A baby-blue bouclé topper proved that when it comes to dropping temperatures, the coat really does make the outfit.

She may have just wrapped a Baz Luhrmann–directed Chanel No. 5 film, but Gisele Bündchen isn’t stopping there. She’s going for the whole campaign.

Gisele Chanel Campaign

The French luxury house released the full set of images for its Spring/Summer 2015 campaign, starring none other than the Brazilian supermodel. Shot in black and white, Gisele poses barefoot in front of recognizable Parisian spots like the city’s infamous “love lock” bridges and various locations overlooking the Seine River.

The images definitely evoke a romantic midnight-in-Paris vibe, but noticeably missing from the pictures? A handsome suitor (and a pair of coveted Chanel shoes).

2014 was undeniably the year of the selfie. And Lady Gaga? Well, her Instagram followers can confirm that she embraced the trend fully. To up her game in 2015, the pop diva is taking self-portraits to the next level with a full-on ad campaign for Japanese beauty brand Shiseido.

WWD reports that 50 of Gaga’s latest shots will appear exclusively in Japanese newspapers early next month. Why January? Turns out it’s the height of Japan’s shopping season.

Stateside, we’ll have to get our fix the digital way. So for all the little monsters looking to take a peek – keep your eyes on Gaga’s Instagram.
