The People’s Choice Awards Best-Dressed List

Last night, the People’s Choice Awards kicked off what will be a steady stream of awards shows over the next few months, culminating with the Academy Awards in March. And while there were plenty of big wins (Sandra Bullock! Justin Timberlake! Britney!) and some truly hilarious speeches on stage – do yourself a favor and YouTube Ellen DeGeneres’s acceptance for Favorite Daytime TV Host – the real competition was on the red carpet.

Best-Dressed at the People's Choice Awards 2014

From unexpected turtlenecks to peekaboo dresses, here’s who came out on top in my book:

  1. Anna Faris
Nothing beats a pantsuit on the red carpet, and Faris managed to look both comfy and chic in her sparkly ivory number.
  2. Allison Williams
The People’s Choice Awards is one show where you can take a risk, and the Girls actress did just that with a peekaboo David Koma sheath dress and edgy updo.
  3. Jessica Alba
It might be freezing everywhere else, but Alba still went super sexy in a laced-up-the-side bustier dress by Jason Wu. Slicked-back hair, natural makeup, and minimal accessories kept the look from being too over the top.
  4. Jennifer Hudson
With her on-trend pixie cut, new bod, and ruched KAUFMANFRANCO dress, the Oscar winner has simply never looked better.
  5. Nina Dobrev
You’re probably asking, When did turtlenecks become sexy? The answer: When the Vampire Diaries star chose to wear this sparkly, second-skin Jenny Packham dress.
