I love orange. Let me clarify – I love the color orange. The fruit? Not so much. (I know, I’m in the minority here.) But just because I love the bold hue doesn’t mean I’m going to buy a million orange shirts. Why? Because like a well-balanced diet, a well-balanced wardrobe – in terms of color – is important. Just ask the fashion editors at Esquire.

They’ve broken down the amount of colors, by percentage, that we should all have in our closets. So next time, when that seventh bright red shirt screams “buy me,” you’ll remember red should only account for 2% of your wardrobe. Meaning, you should probably skip it and head over to the neutrals section.
